Hello everybody ,
Glad to find this forum ,
Newbie here hoping to get help and may be helpful to some in the future
I have set up a Hikvision system at my home,
- NVR : DS-7608NI-K2/8P (V3.4.95 build 170626)
- 3 HikVision turret cameras all connected via internal POE switch of this NVR (Plug'n play) and showing all ok no problem.
- VirtualHost enabled
- Can access NVR GUI from WAN outside of my LAN ( ports forwarded etc.) no problem so far.
NVR IS connected to my Router and is online communicating both ways (from WAN to NVR and from NVR to WAN)
Router Lan : 192.168.0.1
NVR Lan Address : 192.168.0.64 (255.255.255.0 , Gateway 192.168.0.1 , DNS 192.168.0.1 ) therefore NVR has access to WAN .
Cameras :
192.168.254.2 (255.255.255.0 , GW 192.168.254.1)
192.168.254.5 (255.255.255.0 ,GW 192.168.254.1)
192.168.254.7 (255.255.255.0 ,GW 192.168.254.1)
The question is HOW TO GET A CAMERA TO COMMUNICATE and ACCESS (WAN) INTERNET to function independent from NVR ,
eg :
- Updating internal clock via NTP.
- upload even pictures to an FTP account
- send emails
etc. etc.
the way NVR and its internal POE works seems to be isolating cameras acceess to and from outside wolrd ! (WAN)
I have tried setting up cameras Gateway and DNS in various combinations (using Router's GW dnd, using NVR's IP as GW etc.) no luck .
I even tried switching cameras from Plug'nPlay to manual and set the IP to my LAN range ( from 192.168.254. xxx to 192.168.0.xxx ) to see if I can see the cameras locally or get the cameras to have access to WWW.
instead NVR either reverted the setting or camera simply went offline from NVR GUI.
I appreciate if anyone has a solution to this.
my aim is to have cameras recording 24/7 on NVR (which they are ) AND get camera to upload//email events etc FROM within camera software to Internet interdependently of NVR.
Thanks in advance for reading and your time
Kind regards
