I purchased blue iris through IP Cam Talk. I installed the software and put in serial code I received in email. I then get message I have to “activate” software by sending url and get activation code. So I copy it all down and drive the 15 miles back into town to get wifi signal. I get activation code, drive the 15 miles back to the house, input the activation code, but “next” button will not highlight, thus not allowing me to continue on with software activation.
How do i get the software to run ?

You need to enter the code with the hyphens.

If you entered it too many times or on multiple computers you will get this message and the code will need to be reset.

Did you copy / paste it from the email with the hyphens like @fenderman said? Did you try to use it on more than 1 computer?

Thank you Fenderman, but the activation code had no hyphens in it
The activation code definitely has hyphens in it. Go into your store account and My Orders, the code will be visible there.

Edit: Sorry, this is the license key, not activation code.

I imputed it by hand Mike, seeing that I had to run into town to use the url and get the activation code on my iPad, then type it in to the PC when I got back

Login to IPCT on the Blue Iris computer and go to My Orders then copy / paste it.

You should consider using remote access software such as TeamViewer so you can always have access to the Blue Iris PC.

The serial code has hyphens, that worked fine, with brought up activation screen with long url. Url, when put into browser, brought back a 16 digit alpha-numeric code

The house where the PC is off-grid, no internet, power via wind and solar, so TeamViewer would not help, but thank you

So you tried it with the hyphens and it worked?

Serial code works, activation code does not, I put in code and the “next” button does not highlight
Ahh okay, you're past inputting the license key and trying to activate it using the activation key, understood.

Do me a favor and send me a private message with screenshots, I'll gladly help resolve this ASAP.

Maybe Internet is required during the install so the installer can verify the code?

Received, thanks. It definitely seems to be an issue on the Blue Iris side...I have contacted the developer and will respond to your PM as soon as I get the word.

In the meantime you can still set up your Blue Iris as an evaluation copy.

Here is how to activate Blue Iris using the activation code.

  • Please make sure you're running the latest version of BI
  • The PC's clock (and time zone) must be set correctly, and the activation key is only valid for a couple of hours.

I recommend syncing your BI computer's time manually using this website The Official NIST US Time: Since you don't have internet on your BI comp, load that website on your phone and sync it with your computer to the second, then try the activation process from the beginning. If that doesn't work, email Ken using the email I gave you.

not sure if I should post here, or in cameras. But, does anyone know if a Lorex FCX33V camera can be made to work on a system with no internet running BI?
I have had no luck with Lorex, but I figure it can not hurt to ask here.
