Hey guys, new to the forum and trying to run down a potential issue. Upgraded my 2 Hikvision DS-2CD2032-I cameras to 5.2.0. One camera is working great, but the other camera shows upgraded to 5.2.0, but the menus are off and is including some tabs that are not on the fully operational camera. Was wondering if I should upgrade to 5.3.0 or is there another "fix"?

Welcome to the forum..make sure you clear your browser of all plugins and try again.

Hi,

For info, I've tested this new firmware on my two DS-2CD2132F-IWS, and :
1) The first one have accepted the firmware But I can't connect anymore via the web interface : "Access Error: 404 -- Not Found / firmware language mismatch: /home/webLib". The camera is still working via PC, phone and tablet. 2) The second was rebooting every 30 seconds <=> I get it back thanks to the hikvision tftp tools and a specific digicap.dav given by my hikvision provider

For info, the two IPCAM were in 5.2.3 before the upgrade, but:
- The first one has been upgraded before from 5.2 to 5.3 by myself. I'm using ONVIF protocol instead of hikvision protocol do to a region mismatch. I will do a restore this week-end (this not easy to get this IPCAM from the wall ...).
- The second one was originaly in 5.2.3 (multi-linguage). It is now in 5.2.5 after the restore thanks to the firmware obtained via my provider (week in chinese)

In conclusion :
- Take care before using this new firmware if you are not expert like me :-}
- If somebody have a special 5.3 firmware that is compatible with my ip cam, please let me know :-}

Hi All! I just bought Hikvision 2CD2132F US retail version. It came with FW 5.2.5. Everything was working great until I upgrade FW to 5.3. It was successfully updated and the Web UI still in English version but the problem is web components not working event I update the web component, pop up message. Anyone has experience with this problem? I've tried with all browsers, IE, Firefox, Chrome but no luck.

Why did you update the FW? I've never heard a good reason why they updated. Lots of reasons on the forums to not update. Why did you update the firmware? You cant read the forums 1st?

I was asking for solution not be asked for reason. I read the 1 post, nonthing bad about it since I have US retail version, except not downgrade able which I am ok with that. I didn't see anyone have this problem either.

A bit rude in how it was put, but totally correct there is still no reason to update. All updating will do is strip you of functionality and features.

Thanks all. I am new to Hikvision, just have it for 2 weeks and still playing with it.

Don, if an update told you it was a security fix but wanted your bank details and pin number would you do it? of course not, security updates don't remove functionality Hikvision do. Thats not a reason do it just because they have released an update.
The fact Hikvision do not list all changes on an firmware release says it all.
That said your system is only as good as it's design, Strong user details, and yes cameras should never be open to the outside of you network and preferably within a vlan connected to an NVR.

To All. I already updated to 5.3 and now my Web component is not working but the camera is working fine, Since I cannot see liveview so I cannot draw motion detection or instruction area. Anyone has similar problem? "Live View Failed"

I've tried all three browser, IE, Chrome, Firefox but non of them was working. My other camera still running FW 5.2.5 and the web component is working fine on that one. Both of my camera are US version with CCWR serial number.

But taking an update on blind faith is ludicrous, just because they say its a unproven security issue is no reason to update your firmware and removing items and funtions some people brought the cameras for does not make it right either.
The reason for the last 3 firmware updates were to shutdown grey market imports and only this, this is the main part of this forum to help people with these imported models, if they were as you say security issue fix all regional models would have been updated, but this not the case, UK Trade version is still 5.2.3 & 5.2.5 US Retail is Still 5.2.3 this puts most of your theory out the window,
But thats just my opinion (27 years in the CCTV trade) lol

This seems to happen when accessing different firmware models, uninstall the web components, and re install from the camera with the latest firmware.

If you are using chome it may not work, stick with firefox.

black screen the the message " Live View Failed". It works with my other camera with 5.2.5 firmware.
