:welcome:
My standard welcome to the forum message.

Please read the cliff notes and other items in the wiki. The wiki is in the blue bar at the top of the page.

Read How to Secure Your Network (Don't Get Hacked!) | IP Cam Talk in the wiki also.

Quick start
1) Use Dahua starlight cameras or Hikvision darkfighter cameras or ICPT Night eye cameras (https://store.ipcamtalk.com/) if you need good low light cameras.
2) use a VPN to access home network (openVPN)
3) Do not use wifi cameras.
4) Do not use cloud storage
5) Do Not use uPNP, P2P, QR, do not open ports,
6) More megapixel is not necessarily better.
7) Avoid chinese hacked cameras (most ebay, amazon, aliexpress cameras(not all, but most))
8) Do not use reolink, ring, nest cameras (they are junk)
9) If possible use a turret camera , bullet collect spiders, dome collect dirt and reflect light (IR)
10) Use only solid copper, AWG 23 or 24 ethernet wire. , no CCA (Copper Clad Aluminum)
11) use a test mount to verify the camera mount location. My test rig: rev.2
12) (Looney2ns)If you want to be able to ID faces, don't mount cams higher than 8ft. You want to know who did it, not just what happened.
13) Use a router that has openVPN built in (Most ASUS, Some NetGear....)

Hmm, a crapmera pointed up into the sky...and a gmail account with what looks like a doofus' password just happening to be in shot. On yer bike.
C'mon, be nice now....I myself started out 8 years ago with a Wanscam for cryin' out loud.

Or was it a Zonet?

Anyway....Welcome to IPCT, @newresolve !
it could maybe just be a dummy, test account that he was working with so it's not like he's leaking anything real.

I've never heard of "Yi" before. A quick look reminds me of what Wyze is doing. I wonder if Yi supports ONVIF, RTSP. (that's the two things that it must support for it to work with BI, right? I think.....still learning)

I don't "know" for sure but if you google the email addy then you'll find that its posted in an open pastebin. My guess is that its a test account used for something. I STILL wouldnt expose it like that but its unlikely a real account.

Funny story for everyone - back in about 1998 I was with a company & one of the projects we did for a magazine was to test spam filters. We had to set up accounts on yahoo, gmail, and a bunch of other free email services. We set them up and then directed a spam feed we had provided to us (about 20k emails a day) toward those accounts to test how well their spam filters worked and document the different features & such.

The PROBLEM was that the account that we set up was something like janesmith1234@whereever.com and one of our engineers turned on the spam hose and the config file left off the "1234" part and we hammered a couple real peoples accounts with about 50k spam emails! The spam filters werent as good then as they are now and what got through was a LOT! Poor people. Could you imagine checking your email and finding 50k emails in your inbox?!? All for ED meds, warranties, crap sunglasses, etc...

Yep, he/she is doing it wrong. Password should be under the keyboard or stuck to the monitor. :lmao::secret:

Well, it does end with 123! so he did use letters, numbers AND a special character.
So at least it is a safe password
