Whom are you asking?@blake The picture you posted is 1280x720. Is this intentional? Can you provide a true 4Mpixel capture?
Which HIK turret are you using? What are the video and image parameters of the capture?
Looks like there is a motorized version -Z of that camera (only the lens is motorized not pan tilt) which takes the hassle out of adjusting the varifocal.Anybody has any insights into the availability of the DS-2CD2742FWD-I(S)? Does milkisbad have a website?
My guess would be around 300 when available.Oooooo that sounds good... but expensive?
In case your not sure what fenderman is talking about then something like this would do http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00K4PZ9NO?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=od_aui_detailpages01Just wrap the connection with coax seal and it will be fine..

Agreed however some devices don't use the standard 48v like Ubiquiti gear, They use 24v PoE none standard. Point is always check the PoE specs of the device before plugging any device into PoE or watch it go up in smoke before your very eyes. But yes Hikvision cams use the standard 48v PoE.Brakar, 12v is only for the DC power jack on the camera's pigtail. Standard PoE is 48 to 56 volts by design, and the camera will run on that. Just don't plug the PoE injector's power supply directly into the camera because, like I said, the DC power jack on the camera is intended for 12v.
bp2008, Have you ever used this device that you recommended? http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CWVYG50/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=1N6867G1O15RY&coliid=IS9M9JWL4DERWSince you asked, here are some compatible PoE injectors:

And a PoE switch (which eliminates the need for an injector, for as many devices as there are PoE ports).
