The tool changes the language of the firmware file - not the language of the NVR - so that the NVR does not reject the firmware file with 'language mismatch' when an upgrade is attempted.
From your screenshot - it looks like telnet is not available on the firmware that is installed.

If your camera has a build firmware above 5.2.3 then you cannot install a lower firmware than 5.2.5.

You said in your earlier post it was 5.2.3 then you can install 5.1.6 this is by far the best officially released firmware also found in my posts
ok, I installed the 5.2.0, now I try the 5.1.6
thanks

I make firmware. And i try updgate from web interface, on step rebooting dvr do nothing.
And i try upgrate from tftp recovery tool, same result, the firmware not change. IF i try upgrate from original dav(from recovery tool), firmware installed and settings go to default.

thanks for the useful tool. But when i adjust the files' order in the folder, the final file keeps unchanged. And when it comes to the version 5.3.0, it comes up with the block. And we know 5.3.0 cannot degrade to 5.2.0. So I am thinking that if i modify the source code to make the order changed, the upgrade would be OK. So I ask for the source in private. Please contact me by the mail yqti@qq.com

Hi, has anyone successfully used this tool with 5.3.0 for a 2732? Mine is in chinese 5.3.0 now and I'd like to switch to English if possible. Thx.

Great - thanks so much!
A really useful tool that lots of us have been using to be able to make better use of our Hikvision surveillance products.
Now even more useful.

I'm curious - did you manage to repeat / confirm a specific problem with the 5.3.0 firmware, and confirm that the change deals with it?

Hi, I've tried split-create with f/w 5.3.0 build 1505013 for 2xx2 and the update process via web interface keeps getting failed. If I don't make any changes to the source files and just pack them again, it works. But any, even small change in any of the files (like adding an empty line in initrun.sh) make the resulting dav file unusable. Does anyone have any ideas what is wrong?

BTW, there is no uImage in original 5.3.0, but hImage, so the resulting file order is different from what is specified in release notes.

Anyway, it's a great tool :)
