Doorbell camera with phone app and no subscription?

Thanks for all the suggestions.. I might be going with a Reolink. I ran cat6 for 5 security cameras while the house was under construction but didn't wire cat6 to the doorbell so I like that Reolink has a wifi option.

Recommendations for outdoor IP camera with good AI

+1 above. That Reolink would NEVER meet your needs at that distance. See this thread for the commonly recommended cameras (along with Amazon links) based on distance to IDENTIFY that represent the overall best value in terms of price and performance day and night. The Importance of Focal...

Doorbell camera with phone app and no subscription?

I looked at both Lorex and Reolink but ultimately went with Reolink due to the wired POE and Blue Iris integration.

Recommendations for outdoor IP camera with good AI

I did some reading here... noticed you guys are not fond of ReoLink and Nest, regardless of their popularity. Perhaps I need a Dahua 5442 in 6mm to be able to better identify what is at the end of our driveway, coming and going. Then it appears Blue Iris might be pretty good software and give...

Doorbell camera with phone app and no subscription?

The Reolink can connect via RTSP or RTMP and has a main stream or a sub stream. It is furnished with a plug-in, configurable (ringtones, volume) chime or can operate existing chimes as show in this YT video:

Doorbell camera with phone app and no subscription?

Not much love on IPCT for Reolink but their doorbell is a different story: many users really like it. It's available in Wi-Fi or wired and NO cloud/subscription required. https://ipcamtalk.com/threads/new-reolink-wired-poe-doorbell-cam.66073/

I just ran across a Reolink Duo 3 PoE 16MP 180° camera that looks like it has a snapshot app included... anyone use it?

    Doorbell Camera in BlueIris

Wow....not sure if either of you 5 year members know about IPCT's search feature but there' s a HUGE thread about the Reolink DB with Blue Iris: https://ipcamtalk.com/threads/new-reolink-wired-poe-doorbell-cam.66073/page-35#post-775278 And here's a YT video on how to use it with existing chimes:

    Hardware Acceleration Question

...using an AMD Ryzen 7 5700G which comes with integrated graphics. I have a few 5MP Amcrest POE cameras and a few TAPO 3/4 MP cameras and 1 5MP Reolink doorbell. Are you saying it's better to use the cameras own AI for motion detection vs using CodeProject (which I am currently using)? If so...

    Doorbell Camera in BlueIris

Just a thought but I wonder if you could use the Reolink chime itself to directly trigger a relay (need to match voltages) for your old door chime. I’m sure it can be done it’s just whether that’s the most efficient way to do it. Hopefully someone smarter than I can comment on the best way to do...

    Doorbell Camera in BlueIris

Not dumb at all, had the same question just a few weeks ago. Short answer is yes, I just added 2 of them to my own system and they work great. You need to use the Reolink configuration tool to set them up then go into BI and adopt them as a camera.

    Doorbell Camera in BlueIris

This may be a dumb question, but... Can the Reolink POE doorbell be added as a camera into BlueIris? I don't so much care about communication as much as I care about 1) Has a doorbell button that rings existing chime; and, 2) Records video, preferably to BlueIris with the other cameras.

    Funny / Satire

I recall reading, at some point, that they actually screw the bead of the tire to the rim. Otherwise the rim (not the tire) would just spin under heavy acceleration

    Funny / Satire

Went to the drag strip tonight with my Reolink and got a great image of a tire at full acceleration ;)

Stuck in Hikvision hell. RCA HSDB1.

For the ridiculously low price of $80 USD, I'd toss it in the garbage and buy the Reolink POE doorbell camera instead.

    Reolink Cameras

Firmware by Reolink has been shown by members to "cheat" on purpose .. for example, changing night time video captures to increase the shutter time so that still images look good at the expense of moving images ( that is shown in various image captures where the moving subject seems to disappear...

Exchanging a Nest Wired Doorbell with Reolink WiFi unit - Advice Please

Not wanting to gatecrash the other substantial thread on Reolink, I have posted a separate request for advice here. I currently have a Nest wired doorbell that is in place for more than five years. I am considering replacing it with a Reolink unit. I have a number issues with the Nest...

    Outdoor PTZ with 2-way audio?

Almost every model of Hikvision camera besides the extremely low end offer input / output for a speaker / microphone. Some of their other cameras include both speaker & microphone in all three styles from dome, turret, bullet. External microphones & speakers are primarily used for the higher...

    Can an i3 be sufficient?

Most love their Reolinks until an incident happens... How is the night performance with motion? Care to share a few examples of objects in motion at night, along with the camera model names? Reolink does a very good job of still images. But at night perps are a complete motion blur with...

    Can an i3 be sufficient?

so far loving my reolink's... have had a few issues with memory cards going unformatted thus the point of going to a recorded solution.... albeit some cameras have 512gb memory to which they say max supported is 256... but the ones that had issues were 256... also had 1 camera totally die on...

    Can an i3 be sufficient?

Reolink is not a camera upgrade and many posts here over the years of showing Reolink not working well in BI. Reolink works best in its own platform, so it will work best with a Reolink NVR. However, that doesn't fix the perform poorly at night issue that Reolinks are known for.

    Can an i3 be sufficient?

I had an old samsung 4 bnc camera setup for years and it did its job. Recently upgraded to 8 ReoLink 4K POE cameras and put 256gb and 512gb microSD cards in. That is not enough space!!!! So I have 2 options: 1. buy reolink dvr and just run that OR 2. Build a PC and install BlueIris I have...

    Outdoor PTZ with 2-way audio?

...I tried Amcrest's IP4M-1098EW-AI, but apparently my NVR (Synology) does not support using the camera's speaker. I found another one, made by Reolink and it has the same problem. I've spent hours scouring Hikvision and Dahua without much success. I did find the DS-2DE3A404IW-DE/W(S6) but it's...

    Recommendation for new system?

Hi @jeremybme many of the older Q-see kits were Dahua OEM .. So, you could get a PC and run Blue Iris or the Dahua VMS product they have out now, and just upgrade the cameras that died with newer Dahua OEM cameras. ( remember a drop of di-electric get in the RJ45 boot )
