    Forum attachments fail to load

So I'm signed in currently on android smartphone reading forum. I have a PC but don't sit in front of it 24/7. PDF attachments don't load at all on this website on my smartphone, elsewhere works fine though. For example the attachment in this post: 20190627 New catalog Comes up as...

Getting Intel Quick Sync to work with Blue Iris (Settings & Troubleshooting)

:goodpost: I've got "GPU 0 - Video Decode" on task manager, BI running at 25% CPU usage on i5 8600 (non-k). 5 cameras mostly 2mp. I just updated settings on them few weeks ago, stretched out storage from 5weeks to now 7weeks. Even changed to h265. All seems to be working ok after restarting BI...

That sucks, they should have come with camera. Sounds like you got screwed. No idea what size.

Problem with order from Andy (Empiretecandy) and need advice

Don't know how it works in US, but if I ordered something & it wasn't delivered I'd think the onus would be on seller+courier to prove delivery. Obviously if you don't have it it's either been misplaced or stolen. Either way not your fault or issue & shouldn't be out of pocket. And in many...

Show me some of you ideas for hiding cameras.

This is why I think more cameras need to come with camouflage accessories, so we can make them more well hidden.

Anyway to log into a Dahua camera remotely

You need a way to connect to your server first. Make sure it is a VPN server & not VPN client, as many people confuse the two. And then from there navigate to your camera. So you could have "OpenVPN Connect" app installed on Pixel 3 & once configured this would connect to your OpenVPN server...

    Best Low Light cameras- POE-suggestions?

I meant specifically for low light, as 5231 seems to be all the rage because of this yes.

Does a camera with these specs exist?

Yet ;). Hopefully at some point one will be released. What makes a starlight camera starlight? Ie software or hardware.

    Best Low Light cameras- POE-suggestions?

I'm curious to know if there's a better cam than 5231, cost aside to a point. Like is there a dearer yet better camera & if so which one(s)? Is there a hierarchy list somewhere?

    4.6.9 - January 31, 2018 H.265 hardware decoding added

Is there any point or negative impact, assuming it records anyway, to setting cameras to 265, will it cause BI/PC to work harder or will it auto adjust recording to 264?

Do you max out your camera resolution?

:banghead: Don't know why I hadn't thought of that . Problem solved. Thanks .

Do you max out your camera resolution?

That's not it, as I already made sure of it. EDIT: I can zoom all way in, & I've tried zooming all way back out but it stops short & won't go any further yet issue remains.

Changed internet service, unable to access BI remotely since

Similar thing happened to me few months back. ISP changed how they were managing IP addresses & put their users on Carrier-grade NAT & I could no longer remote home, I had to specifically ask to be given an IP address. This wasn't the only way but for me the easiest & simply solution.

    What firewall are you using?

Testing it by trying to access internet with it ie using browser, pinging & more but also using router to monitor any possible network usage. I use a PC that has full internet & camera access, but it's only turned on when I'm using it, configured to access the BI PC if/when required. There's...

Do you max out your camera resolution?

Does BI have a max resolution for live viewing? One of my Hikvision cameras provides a 3072x2048 resolution & so I changed/maxed it just for fun. BI live viewing crops the viewing area or appears zoomed in. Viewing in BI browser is same issue. Playback recordings is fine & whole area plays...

    AI 4.0 Series Cameras

Hopefully a 4MP IR Starlight+ Vari-focal turret:D which I'm sure is :secret::winktongue:. And IPC-HDW5431R starlight IPC-T(turret)5431R ;) This will certainly help dummies like me that have no idea of naming scheme. Wish they kept it simple.

    What firewall are you using?

Agreed. Ideally you want to filter traffic where & when it enters home network at the router/entry level if possible. It adds your first layer of defence. My set up uses ASUS router with Skynet firewall installed on the router. Cameras & Blue Iris PC blocked from having any internet access...

    Cameras all connected

If you plan on using VPN, you need to have a VPN server set up in order to do this, what you've posted is VPN client. VPN Client = devices on your home network accessing internet. VPN Server = outside devices from the internet accessing your home network. Additionally you may need a DDNS set up...

NVR with Display in a different room?

Going to depend on how they're connected. Above posters have covered off HDMI. You can get smart TV, many allow viewing via this method with browser. Basically similar as logging into camera via PC. No HDMI or converters required at all. I've got the TV in my lounge room set up to view cameras &...

    Having trouble remote access BI

If local access works but remoting in doesn't, given the troubleshooting, most likely issue is with the phone itself or setting. I remember when I first tried accessing my network remotely on my smartphone, I had some setting/app on smartphone interfering/blocking with what I was trying to do...

    Dahua 2MP Starlight Lineup

Any chance with all the newer 4MP cameras being released there could be a sticky for them referencing them, much like this one? Would be extremely helpful. I've found this thread to be immensely useful as a resource & go to point for 2mp cameras. Also keen to see 5231 knocked out of top...

Record Camera to my internal hard drive

This. You can install cameras & record to memory stick onboard the camera itself without a PC/NVR. But to record to hard drive you need appropriate software to do so. Blue Iris is most popular choice here & for good reason.

    4MP IR Starlight+ Vari-focal Dome Camera?

Thanks. The 2nd one looks like it. Is IR bounce-back an issue that can happen regardless? I have a dome in the back yard under cover with no lights & don't really see this day or night. @EMPIRETECANDY Thanks, can't find them on your website store though? I figured with a number of new...

Uploading backups to secure offsite on closed network?

Just like the whole thing is useless if power is down. UPS is on my list of things to get too. Possibly looking at a NAS as well as online, in addition to microSD cards in cameras as well. Not paranoid at all , can never have too much data . With NAS; can they be configured to...

Uploading backups to secure offsite on closed network?

Hence the post for help? I could allow BI PC internet access, I came here looking for (other) options first before having to do this if I could avoid it. I get that something will have to have internet access, but what does that look like & what's involved? Can I use a NAS or RaspberryPi on the...
