    Camera suggestion for dim lane

    Dahua or Hik the range is huge and so confusing. Is there really a need for so many different cameras? Is the difference between most models really that noticeable? I've seen a few screenshot comparisons of different models and the difference has been minimal at best.

    Do I need to plug the switch into the Lan port or into one the 16 camera ports? Think I remember reading somewhere that it can be plugged into a camera port and a maximum of four cameras can then be added. First time I've connected a switch so looking for any tips please. Many thanks.

    I am trying to add a device but the serial number i have has 27 characters not the 9 required! I have obtained the serial number from the System Maintenance > Device info page on the Nvr. Is the 9 digit serial number included in the 27 digit number?
