The new updated android app has been pushed to the play store

I agree with this statement. Lots of very useful and complex updates on the main Windows BI5 program but the Android app is definitely lacking. It's a shame because I rarely hear people complaining about the apple version. Maybe I ought to make the switch to an iphone. :-) I am experiencing...

    Dahua NVR Channel Question

Thanks.... I actually convinced him to go with blue iris. Just ordered him an optiplex with an i5 6500 from ebay.

BI with Reolink RLC-420-5MP and GentlePumpkin's AI setup

Your issue is the motion sensor settings then. Slide the minimum object and minimum contrast all the way to the left. Let deepstack do its job in analyzing the images and filtering out the false alerts. Also, lower the make time to .2 or .3 You can also try to switch from edge vector to simple...

BI with Reolink RLC-420-5MP and GentlePumpkin's AI setup

If you type the trigger URL from your aitool camera tab in a local browser do you get the blue iris alert and does it start the HD stream recording?

BI with Reolink RLC-420-5MP and GentlePumpkin's AI setup

The SD camera stream needs to be posting jpegs when triggered into a folder that the AI tool monitors and then sends to deepstack for inspection. There are two ways to have blue iris post those jpegs when triggered. Are you sure this is being done? I use the "post" tab. Also, under the...

    Dahua NVR Channel Question

My brother is ordering a couple of these dual "booby" cams: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JZBFTDF/ref=ewc_pr_img_3?smid=A329YQ83EBQGJF&psc=1 I have one of those and added it to Blue Iris but he is wanting to use an NVR (haven't been able to convince him otherwise). If he orders 4 of...

    Settings Help

Although I had toyed with the idea of adding a second camera, I never really thought about how that second camera's infrared light would boost the night time vision. That's definitely something I'll keep in mind going forward. Thanks a lot for your help.

    Settings Help

In all honesty... it doesn't look "good" to me and although it's not bright, it's not completely pitch black either. My neighbor has been leaving his garage flood lights on and there is a small led light post in front of his house as well (that's why the right side near the mailbox seems a tad...

    Settings Help

Here is another try. Increased the bitrate to CBR 8192 Increased gain from 35 to 45 Image settings are all at 50 except contrast at 55. Anything higher and the image gets too dark.

IR is on smart IR. I'll adjust the image settings and increase the bitrate. Being that I'm using H265 encoding, I didn't think the higher bitrate was necessary?

Can some of the experts here take a look at my settings and tell me if this is as good as it gets with this camera? I'm trying to dial in my settings. This is the camera: IPC-HDW5231R-ZE. I'm not sure if my expectations are too high but it seems like I've seen video reviews with this camera...

    Artifacts since enabling sub-stream

He really ought to work on updating the android app. It hasn't been updated since January of 2020. It works okay but it's definitely clunky and the alert tab should have a way to organize alerts better.

    Artifacts since enabling sub-stream

I found that you can either disable the sub streams or switch to continuous recording instead of record on motion. Did you see this thread: Pre-trigger buffer distorting

    Neighborhood Breakins

The nest cam was not my front door. I do have a couple dahua cams purchased from Andy last year. However, the only footage I got was from a backyard camera pointed at my fence gate. Too far away and dark.

    Neighborhood Breakins

Woke up this morning to posts on next door that several people had their cars broken into. The attached picture was from a neighbor down the road. The perps didn't come in my driveway because we didn't have any cars parked outside but everyone around me was probed for unlocked doors. Found out...

Unifi VPN unusable from T-mobile 4g

I have a Unifi UDM that I setup with a l2tp/psk VPN. It had been working perfectly for months. When I was away from home, I could connect through my Galaxy S20 on 4g to view cameras and had full access to my LAN. Speeds were reasonable. I could stream and view all my cameras well. I noticed a...

    Pre-trigger buffer distorting

CPU usage shouldn't be high if substreams are setup correctly. However, if CPU usage is spiking for some reason, you might be dropping frames when blue iris triggers to record? Do you notice the CPU spike during motion triggers? Anything else running on the computer other than Blue Iris? You...

    Pre-trigger buffer distorting

I had this same problem. At first, I thought my old i5 4570 cpu was bogging down due to Deepstack AI analyzing pictures triggered from the motion. I went as far as purchasing a new i5 10th gen box to try and alleviate the problem. I have plenty of cpu overhead now and the issue persisted...

Clips don’t play on bi mobile app

I had this issue on my android app. My wife's phone played clips fine. I did a lot of troubleshooting but nothing "worked" until I deleted the android application data and cache. Once I logged back in, everything worked fine. By the way, I could play clips/alerts for all my cameras except for...

Enable/disable mobile alert notification via http request

A correctly cloned camera does not use extra Cpu resources. After closing and setting up the alert, just hide it in the gui. I'm using one cloned camera that is only enabled at night and sends an email alert to IFTTT to turn my flood lights on when motion is detected.
