Using powerline adapters and lightning problems

TonyR's suggestion of using a Ubiquiti Layer 2 Transparent (wireless) bridge ...... is leading me to some other thoughts. At 130-140 yards I have a windmill set on the edge of an 8 acre pond. It's basically part of out front yard. Our house is near a half mile from the road. I cannot see...

Using powerline adapters and lightning problems

I've setup a remote camera to monitor a duck coop using powerline adapter. For the most part it works pretty good. BUT...after a year or so, had a close lightening strike and it took out the camera and powerline adapter. Bought another setup...and within a couple of months it happen again...

Fire TV stick ungraded overnight...killed sideloaded apps.

Hey guys, I didn't pirate anything...the app was FREE from the supplier of the cameras. I used what I had on hand...the TV stick was my daughter's who was not using it. I have posted this data to a developers forum...I discovered, the 5.0.5 upgrade somehow altered the TV stick's ip#. I...

Fire TV stick ungraded overnight...killed sideloaded apps.

I'm using a free app provided by the camera supplier...not Hikvision. It's available on Google Play for free. This is an Amazon v/s Google thing. I used the TV stick because it was what is available to me. Soooo, the loser here is ME, and neither one Amazon or google is going to get anything...

Fire TV stick ungraded overnight...killed sideloaded apps.

I've be using this Fire TV stick for viewing my cameras for a couple of months, using a sideloaded app. Overnight it ugraded itself to version 5.0.5, and now the sideloaded app will launch, but won't continue running, just exits. Anyone else using this device and having this problem?

A browser, just throws the video out there. I'm guessing tinycam needs brand info etc for ptz controls??? All a browser has is ip port . So, with my dumb cameras, not sure why tinycam can't just go to that ip number and do what the browser does? But only browser that works with this NVR is...

Yes. It finds the router with port 80 open. Does not find the NVR. On edit:...also gone into advance mode, entered my NVR information, can't find it. I can ping NVR from smartphone where I'm trying this.

Alibi appears to be owned by Observint Technologies. They have a series of brands, but none of those brands appears on tinycam's list.

Don't know who makes Alibi's NVR...so I picked Hikvision, and it only gave me cameras to pick from. The software is wanting to direct me to a camera, whereas I want an NVR.

    Possible to setup remote monitor

Got the fire tv stick working....all seems ok, but now caught the picture froze, twice after it run for several hours. Not sure if it's the fire stick, or the mobile software. Hate to, but may have to go with hdmi to ethernet setup.

    Bugs tripping up camera motion

I found a sensitivity settings on the motion alert. I mistakenly set it higher, and recordings increase. I've now set it near the lowest setting, and think that will cure a lot of the issues. Still surprise at things flying around at these temperatures.

    Bugs tripping up camera motion

Well my IP system is functional. First oddity I've found, bugs tripping motion. Now summer, expect that, but at 18 degrees outside??? What the heck is flying out there. I have not checked yet if this is possible but perhaps the sensitivity of detection I should turn down.

    Possible to setup remote monitor

I have neither of those. Would a true Bluetooth mouse that has to be paired and has no usb nano transmitter.....work? I see two different mouse emulating apps for fire tv on Google play....BUT...reviews mixed bag, and some say the best one is now broken.

    Possible to setup remote monitor

My Daughter has a Fire Stick...so I tried using it for the Alibi Witness remote software. I got the software to the Fire Stick, but once the app is launched, the remote does not control anything within the app. I'm guessing, I need a different stick that has usb port for a mouse....or is this...
