    I need help

Crazy suggestion. Reset your system and connect cams 1 at a time. Walk through all configuration to make sure it works as you want then move to next cam. It's tough to troubleshoot when A might be causing problems with B. Easiest way to trace problem.

Hit and Miss connecting to server with BI or UI3 App

Just a penny thought, many routers will reserve LAN IP if you set a device as static. I do it with my Motorola router all the time. Very easy for home configuration. Set my NVR static and on the dhcp list in the router shows as reserved with no further headaches.

    REVO question

I already have a system that works great and this came up at auction. A toy more or less. The tops for signal is less than 20' and would be sub from my router. It's fun learning. I know that wireless drops a lot even at short distance. Just curious about software to access.

    REVO question

Is there a way to remote view/an application REVO units or just the cloud thing they have? Since it has an hdd would think so. And not having to use IE. Bidding on an 8 cam wireless.

    Piggie back?

Also have a chance to get an ADT system new at really dirt cheap. For a hobby it's fun.

    Piggie back?

Actually with my setup realized I can subnet the whole REV system since it would be area specific. Just need to sort the IP addresses. As for remote access, port assignment is all it takes.

    Piggie back?

That's cool. I thought so but wasn't sure. Thanks.

    Piggie back?

I have an 8 channel nvr with 2 spots open. I have a chance to get a REV wireless setup with 8 cameras super cheap. Can I piggy back the nvr on the REV nvr into an open port on existing system to add 8 cams theoretically ? Just playing, but the REV system is less than $100. Down side, the REV...

    Glad I found you all

Lot of work over time, but must thank all as I cruise through posts and learn more.

    Glad I found you all

Finally got everything going for our needs. Very impressed for short range on the cams. Still have one to re position trying to help a neighbor. On the relative cheap cams, am amazed with the width of field. Got my whole garden in at 20 ft.

    rain in the picture

I have a new system in and see the same at night. Unfortunately, don't think there is a way to resolve it. The rain you see is what is close to the camera and is a pita while raining. I have spiders around and even get web flyers on some cams. Maybe a top shield of some type to keep the rain...

    Monkeypox…anyone else concerned?

That also. Worked in the praries of KS for a couple years and came across that all the time. Slight not feeling well, but then all was good.

    Monkeypox…anyone else concerned?

Schmutz is an expression used in the NY area. It means all messed up. Screwed around in a not pleasant way.

    Monkeypox…anyone else concerned?

Reality is this. If you got a smallpox vaccine years ago, you are protected somewhat. Now if you live by farms that have cattle as I do, can go get schmutz from a cow with cowpox and be protected. George Washington mandated it during the Revolution and I think it was cowpox he used. And if...

Motion lights for I of DORI

I opted to change location of cameras for now. ROI is close enough for each that it's working good. Down the line will be upgrading 2 locations. One with a 5442 and the other with a PTZ that can track automatically. I know, big $$$ for that one, but it's for front street.

An idea, adding a drone into our security system

Great idea, I was contemplating similar. Drawback is that you AI to control it all.

2nd hdd in single hdd Lorex DVR?

You can get 6tb on eBay for $150 or so new and clean used ones for $65. As for what you want to do, more headaches than it's worth imo. And the hdds I got are Seagate Skyhawk.

That's what I thought but wanted to be sure. Have been doing the PC stuff for 25+ years, but sometimes better safe than sorry. Thanks

HELP - cannot connect Dahua IP camera to NVR

As before, try starting with just the NVR and monitor. At the prompt to change password, do it. Can you get into the NVR at all? If so, then go to settings, system, default or something similar. Do a factory reset, Unplug all cameras first, and start over. Change password(important) and...

Are you trying to set this up through the NVR connected to a monitor or through a PC?

HELP - cannot connect Dahua IP camera to NVR

What bigredfish said. Some OS's are more forgiving than others, but 1 by 1 you must register the cameras. Just did an install and that's how the OS works that I dealt with. You can also unplug all cameras, go into your NVR, and do a system reset back to factory and start again. As for the...

    Glad I found you all

So question before I totally mess up. The OS is embedded on the NVR(supposedly). NVR has a 2tb HDD and just ordered 2 6tb HDDs. So putting the 2 new ones in should not disrupt the OS except for settings which through SmartPSS I can save. Does that sound right? The 2tb was formatted today...

    NVR html server disable

Is there a way to disable the web server on a Dahua "clone" NVR? I got gDMSS working for LAN and WAN. What a great app. MUCH better and stable than SCS Pro. I know that for all browsers except IE it doesn't matter. I looked everywhere on the NVR and can't find any place to do it. Guess if...

    Glad I found you all

I was just looking at the night images live and 2,3,&4 are moving tomorrow. Will get a bit more of what I want and the siding won't be an issue.

    Glad I found you all

I have done tuning need a bit more needs more I agree. On 1, that's a tree. Moved camera today will see. #3 can move camera a bit. #4 is a pain. It's under a small over hang, but looked at it 15 minutes ago and can get it a few more inches away from the siding. I might make a shield if need be...

    Glad I found you all

Finally got Phase I of the install completed. Cameras are okay for starters, but will be looking for a couple better ones later. Great thing is all my distances are within 15' or so except 1 which is about 60', but even with that not to bad. Did some image tweaking last night and getting much...

    Waterproofing connection to camera

So got this nifty setup to waterproof nic connection. Problem is, doesn't fit over cable. What have others used? The electric adapter no problem. Just use shrink tube since not needed in install. Thought of splitting the nifty to make it work and then electrical tape. Sloppy, but can be done...

    Glad I found you all

Wow! Lots of things to learn. Front of property laid out and mounting cams today. Run nic cable tomorrow. Confirmed solid copper cable. The cameras are REAL basic but good enough to get going. I have lots of short distances so confirmed "I" not a problem. Even caught a plate number today. Have...
