Changing Camera order on Hikvision NVR

Username has the answer. If all available screens are used up unplug the last one. Then use the empty space to move a camera out of screen you want to put a camera. It’s drag and drop at this point. Doesn’t matter the order your cameras are connected to the NVR.

    Camera 1 Bad guy 0

I already purchased the Hikvision cameras for this project. We're going to have to install a wifi. The wifi installer also does camera systems and uses Geovision and Axis. He is cool only installing the wifi and letting me install my own cameras. So if I install the Hikvision cameras what...

Im going to need a very user friendly software or program. I'll need to have my key farm people have the app on their phone also.

    Camera 1 Bad guy 0

This is a very low tech system. Basically just notifies you in the event of motion or person recognized. As soon as he walked into the area I was notified on my phone. I called the sheriffs. Our ranch is at the dead end of a five mile road. By the time he saw the headlights it was too late to...

Don't laugh. It's a Nest outdoor camera driven by a Verizon Jet Pack. It's aimed at our farm tool sheds. We're eight miles from town and are in the process of getting wifi installed so we can have a better setup. Got this guy on a Sunday night before midnight. Sheriffs got there in less than...

    Geovision Opinion

We have a farm in a rural area and no internet. We do have power in many locations. Lately there have been a lot of break ins and equipment and tools stolen. I wanted to set up a Wi-Fi router and add some Hikvisions around the premises. I've installed them at my house and vacation home and...

What's the difference in these cables?

Thanks. You are a great asset for helping me out.

What's the difference in these cables?

Is there a better cable than that one? In the scheme of things cable is one of the cheaper components in the install. I don't mind spending money on quality cable.

What's the difference in these cables?

I'm getting ready to wire my house and want to put in a cable that will be upgradeable in the future. What would be the main difference? 350MHz vs 500MHz? And would either be the best to wire up for 2-4-5 mp cameras? Bulk Cat6 23AWG Solid UTP Riser-Rated (CMR) Ethernet Network Cable, 1000ft...

    Difference between a WD4NPURX and a WD40PURX

Perfect. Thanks. The WD site was a little vague on the difference. It did say the NV series was designed for NVR's and that's what got me confused.

    Difference between a WD4NPURX and a WD40PURX

I'm going to order a system and was looking at the WD Purple hard drives. Noticed that there was two models in the 4TB specs. I'm looking at a 16-20 camera system. Is the N model more suited for this?

    Doorbell camera scares off thug.

Yeah he was thinking what the heck is that red light? They'll catch this guy. Too small a town. Plus no one around here wears a hat like he does. Bet he puckered up when he found out there was a camera.

    Doorbell camera scares off thug.

It looks like he has a gun or something down the back of his pants. As soon as he sees the doorbell cam he bolts. This is local to me. My son lives a couple blocks away from where this happened. He goes to Cal Poly University and it's only a half mile away. He's wearing gloves and has what some...

Any difference in resolution between NVR with built in Poe or using a seperate Poe?

Re: Any difference in resolution between NVR with built in Poe or using a seperate Po I really appreciate the advice. I do search a lot but sometimes I can't get the exact answer I want.

Any difference in resolution between NVR with built in Poe or using a seperate Poe?

Re: Any difference in resolution between NVR with built in Poe or using a seperate Po It's not going to be hooked to a router. No internet service. So if I create a network and manually add each camera it would be as good quality as a plug and play?

Any difference in resolution between NVR with built in Poe or using a seperate Poe?

I just installed a system with a Hikvision NVR with built in Poe. I'm going to install a second system at a vacation home and it really would work better wiring wise to seperate the Poe and NVR. Is there any reduction in resolution going this way. Any tips I need to know?

New system with no internet connection

I'm going to install a Hikvision six camera system at our lake house. We don't have internet so all I was planning on doing was setting up motion record and if something happens I'll have video to look back on. After I hook them up using plug and play what else would I need to do if I'm not...

Changing Camera order on Hikvision NVR

Thanks. I'll try those two. What happened is I put a system in for my elderly parents. I went extremely slow and methodical. I got twelve cameras installed flawlessly or at least as flawlessly as I can do a job. Then after a couple of weeks my dad wanted to add an extra camera at his front...

Changing Camera order on Hikvision NVR

I have a system installed using plug and play. Don't have internet service other than air cards because I live in a rural area. So I didn't connect to them online. I have a couple of cameras I'd like to switch positions on the display. Mainly move a camera from the bottom up to the top row. Can...

    HDMI splitter for Hikvision NVR

Can I use a HDMI splitter to connect two HD televisions to a Hikvision NVR?. I'd like to be able to view the cameras in two different rooms. Or would a VGA to HDMI adapter work and still have high resolution? Rooms are twenty five feet apart with NVR in the middle.

Dome vs Turret for front entry?

It's a long entry way and I have a area that I can mount a bullet to capture video of someone walking up to the door. Unfortunately the area this will be mounted doesn't capture all of the area right in front of the door. I still want to add a dome or turret right at the top of the door as extra...

Dome vs Turret for front entry?

I'm going to install some cameras and have everything set except front entry. It's my folks house and they have a motion light on the front porch that gets quite bright when activated. So would a turret with the IR turned off be better than a dome? I'm using 4mp Hikvisions.

    Remote Controls

It looks like Dahua has units with remotes. I have Hivision and use the mouse. This unit would be for my folks and they would prefer to have it on the t.v. Would it be worth switching brands? I mean are the remotes that much easier on the t.v.or should I try to get them to use a mouse?
