I lowered iris a little to see how that does, but if it makes it worse i'll bump it back up and try upping the noise reduction a little.

Cranked up gain and iris a bit (a lot a bit with iris) and 1:2 so far. time to tinker more. But that one that did come in looked much more like your all's plates. looks like the lighted was almost too light, so will turn down iris a bit and see how it works

hah, now with my latest adjustments, got the plate of this one, but thing i found funny is it doesn't even see the tail lights which were on when the car passed based on my other camera :D Had the sharpness high and contract low which probably caused some of my issues. new settings below...

The camera is completely unexposed, just mounted under my houses soffit. And there is even a street light about 120 feet behind the cars.

I don't disagree it seems like the IR doesn't reach that far on this camera, you'd think a camera's IR would be designed to reach the practical range of the camera >.> how do you power the illuminator?

I might try changing iframe fps at night. I would have assumed lowering fps would lead to blurriness, what does lowering it tend to do? I'm using home assistant to handle day night, and have modded it to also control changing focus but found that was being handled by the profile change...

Opened up smart pass and smd vehicle had a green checkbox, unchecked that and guess we will see

I set up the events on the camera (and double checked them on the NVR) not sure where the generic motion detecion shows on the nvr.

Yeah figured that about smd not working that close, surprised regular motion should be working though. And recording 24x7 with a dahua nvr, not getting the events there either. Recording events also to a local sd card

Hey all, just installed a z12e camera focused on a section of road and I'm getting no motion events. Tried using both motion and IVS, as well as smart motion on/off and i'm not figuring out the setting i'm doing wrong.

While there are a couple decent sales, The vast majority of prime day is a glorified garage sale (essentially businesses selling things for large discounts that they couldn't sell normally to just get rid of). But you get a good deal on some 5442 ze's i'd be game :) (or any refurbed 5442 turrets)
