I'm going to replace it with the new line 7 anpr DS-2CD7A26G0/P-IZHS but will try and fix it once the new one is installed.

I'm guessing it's a manufacturing flaw? It's only 2 years old. Or is it common? I'll try a heat gun to soften the adhesive like they do on cellphones, or is that likely to damage the lense?

Hi all. I have a DS-2CD7A26G0/P-IZ(H)S which is about 2 years old. I've recently noticed bad images in the morning and at night. Upon inspection the lense seal at the front seems to have broken down. Is there any way to remove it and reseal it?

They actually customised a firmware for me to let me store 5000 blacklist plates. It's a new Zealand version. V5.4.7 build 181026 It works pretty well

My Noctua fan arrived today. The NVR is noticeably quieter. Definitely worth the $35.

I have ordered a new fan to replace the stock power supply fan, which runs at 30.2db. the Noctua fan runs at 14db which should make the NVR a lot quieter.

My thinking exactly. And then disconnect the small NVR fan. I think it will help with the noise too

Thanks. I have the NVR on a surge protector, but I think your right about the heat. I had a tv decoder sitting on top of the NVR which puts out a bit of heat so wouldn't have helped the power supply.

I think heat may have been an issue. I had a tv decoder sitting on top of the NVR and a couple of weeks prior to it dying the fans were clogged with dust. Plus I just added the 10TB drive which would have made more heat. I'm thinking about adding a bigger fan to help remove heat from the unit

My NVR is a Hikvision, thanks I'll Google it after work. That's pretty good for a 2MP!

How do I get an 8mp snapshot? I'm viewing on my NVR, and their doesn't seem to be any other option for a higher res snapshot. I'm doing a capture during playback

I've found even the daytime footage is made up of fuzzy clumps of pixels instead of a clear image. Almost like it's over processed. The 5mp beats it even in the day

Sorry seems to be the live capture is a smaller file than the playback capture.

Ok so I've logged in with the web GUI and reset the camera. Dnr is off, white balance is awb1, WDR is off, brightness contrast ect is 50. Still a crap image.

I'll post up some day pics after work. The camera is fuzzy during the day too. I may need to log into the camera with my laptop as I can't see settings for gain in the NVR. WDR is turned off

Sorry it was a rush post. I have a Hikvision DS-7608NI-I2/8P NVR with 1 DS-2CD2685FWD-IZS 8 MP and 1 DS-2CD2655FWD-IZS 5MP. Dnr is turned off for both.

Hi all. I have 2 Hikvision cameras, 1 5mp and 1 8mp. The 5 mp has a clear image day and night but the 8mp is speckled. What could be causing that? The image with the gate is the 8mp camera. I have tried several different settings.

I have just been experimenting with daytime exposure on my lpr. It suddenly dawned on me the shorter the exposure time the clearer the plate. I have found that 1/500 is far too fast for night time and usually only use 1/120. I have invested in an ir flood light to get better night time results...

Still operated as an lpr camera, but lost the 50 fps. For the firmware I got it from hikvision site in Australia. Be careful to get the correct region as different countries have different plates. Eg the Australian on didn't detect new Zealand plates correctly, so I contacted hikvision support...

I have beekin contact with hikvision support and have received newer firmware which has fixed the issue.
