Explain? The camera worked perfectly connected to my laptop with the browser app. Connecting it to my NVR using a different cat5 cable the software recognizes it, loads it to the bottom half of the window without any prompting from me, but remains red, and not connecting.

Thanks all! I will come up with something, but what I really need to understand is how the motion sensing works. I don't want the disguise to obscure any sensor. This is the camera mounted on the house. the red arrow is the mailbox, the green circle is roughly where I'll put the camera.

OK, figured it out. I had set the NVR GUI but the schedule was on ... something other than motion. I just did a copy from one of the cameras that was successfully recording motion to the new camera and everything has been working since.

Well, you all left just enough clues for me to get it figured out. The GIU is part of the camera firmware. Connected the camera to the cat5 on my laptop and powered it from an old 12v wallwart (50-50 chance on the polarity and got lucky). That allowed the SADP tool to see the camera, get...

OK, got it and installed. The only thing not grayed out is REFRESH, and that doesn't change anything. Both cameras are plugged into the NVR but the SADP tool doesn't see them on the network.

Right, but how do I get that page or that display? It doesn't exist anywhere on my computer.

I've clicked on every page of every setting and I don't see ONVIF anywhere. How can I know the address of the camera or the port if it doesn't see it? The NVR is sending power to the camera, I see it on the POE page, but there's nothing in the top or bottom box that tells me the NVR sees it or...

Hello all! I bought two used Hikvision cameras I purchased from a forum member here. I tried connecting them to my Dahua NVR and it doesn't see them at all. I tried pressing the reset buttons on the cameras but no change. Model: DS-2CD2185FWD-1 Manufacture date is 06/2017 Any ideas?

Despite hours of looking, I've never found where the line crossing settings are. Don't know how to get into the cameras themselves so will need some details.

I did the setup from the browser as per the linked thread above. Just not sure how to set the motion detection.

By way of an update, I got in the four Dahua cameras and put them on the boxes from the ezviz. The cameras connected without any input from me. I've played around with the settings but can't seem to get the motion settings to do anything. I want these cameras to record only video, but so...

I followed the original post up to Step 4 but the cameras never populate either the upper or lower windows. Is there another method for stubborn cameras?

Thanks! I didn't know ezviz was hikvision. They are POE cameras (H265 I think?) that came with the ezviz setup. I don't know how to manually add them.
