    Upgrade few on swann NVR

No issue when you're using tftp. You can check Swann's website, they have the original firmware for the "NVR16-7200", though it is a fair bit older than what they ship with.

    Upgrade few on swann NVR

Hmm.. interesting, I recall there are ways to check the underlying model if you telnet into the NVR, but v3.1.0 already has the protected shell which prevents you from running the necessary commands to check. What I would suggest (although tedious and requires you to know to get around a Linux...

    Upgrade few on swann NVR

Well I think that, combined with all the issues you're facing is a pretty clear indicator that you don't have the 7600 series. Have you taken a look at pictures of the 7616? Because it looks nothing like the 7116.

    Upgrade few on swann NVR

That doesn't sound normal.. I've also never had that issue with tftp. You shouldn't need to mess with Hiktools since your NVR should already be western region. You can verify by looking at the serial number and checking that it doesn't contain "CCCH". Are you sure your NVR is a DS-76xxNI-E...

    Upgrade few on swann NVR

I've seen that problem quite a few times, tftp will fix it. I've attached a copy in case you're still having trouble finding one. Just extract it, put the firmware file in the same folder, change your computer ip to 192.0.0.64, and restart the NVR with the power switch. Takes maybe 3-5 minutes...

    Upgrade few on swann NVR

Is there an order in which we should firmware update the NVR & Cameras? Should we update firmware cameras first or the NVR first? Do we have to update firmware on cameras or can we only update firmware on NVR? It doesn't really matter, I've done it both ways (camera first and NVR first) and...

    New Hikvision Firmware 3.4.0 Released! 7600NI-E1(E2) 05/11/2015

I was actually excited to test this out and now I'm just frustrated, this is just my experience, so yours may differ. I have a 7608NI-E2, I initially upgraded through the web interface, but after activating it in iVMS-4200, I couldn't turn on DHCP or update the network settings. So I TFTPed...

Did I exceed my wireless router?

Not only is WEP extremely insecure, but it will limit your wireless throughput to a maximum of 54Mbps - even if your router is capable of more. The first thing I would try is changing the encryption to WPA2 and enable WMM (if it isn't enabled) and then see if you still have issues.

Line Crossing Detection & Intrusion Detection

See below. "Enable Highlight" will mark detected objects with green rectangles. "VCA Rule" will show/hide the intrusion and line crossings.

    Upgrade few on swann NVR

I'm not sure if there is a surefire way to determine the OEM model number. The way I've done it is usually by matching visual appearance, specifications, and user interface. The most important thing is just determining if it is a Hikvision NVR. After you've confirmed that, you can always use...

    Network bandwidth terminalogy explain

In my understanding: incoming means all the traffic from the IPCs home run into the NVR, outgoing means the traffic for remote viewing from pc or mobile app. Correct Remote viewing is supposed to see the substream only, why outgoing is 80, but incoming is 50. Remote viewing can be mainstream...

    FPS and bitrate

What firmware are you using? On my 2CD2032s, the 5.3 firmware had noticeably more pulsating than 5.2.x firmwares.
  13. D

    FPS and bitrate

Yep, so 8192kbps at 10fps would be overkill in my opinion. BUT, if you're looking to really maximize image quality, there are definitely some small benefits to increasing the bitrate even further. I've played around with the bitrates myself and the "Best" bitrate isn't "Absolute Best"...

    Hikvision NVRs and Bitrate

This might be easier to understand: http://www.dvs.co.uk/media/wysiwyg/downloads/Hikvision_NVR_Recommended_Bitrate.pdf It doesn't have 20fps or 4MP, but you can sort of guess based on whats available. At 3MP/20fps I currently use 7168kbps, but I could definitely use a bit more if I wasn't...

    Hikvision NVRs and Bitrate

I think you'll definitely need the extra bandwidth if you're planning on recording at 4MP/20fps. I'm not familiar with h.264+ or h265, but at h264 it's definitely not enough. I'm running 6 cameras at 3MP/20fps on the 7608 and I feel like it's just barely enough.

    Hikvision DS-7608NI-E2/8P

No, you don't need an external POE switch. Just enable virtual-host and then update the gateway on your camera to 192.168.254.1 (or whatever your NVR internal address is). That will give your camera access to the internet and subsequently allow email alerts from the camera.

    Hikvision DS-7608NI-E2/8P

As Michelin said, the issues are dependent on firmware (even if you get an E2). I can tell you that with v3.3.4 on the E2: -You can record on motion, VCA, or both -Email alerts work, except there are no attachments for VCA events -Virtual-host is available If you really need attachments for...

    Hikvision Camera Settings

Here's some tips: -Lower your exposure to reduce motion blur. In my experience, 1/30 is usually good for walking, 1/60 for running, but you might need to go even lower (e.g. 1/120) for zero motion blur on cars. The trade-off here is that the lower you go, the darker the picture. -Increase your...

HikVision DS-7608NI-E2/8P - some pics and first impressions

So I finally got around to testing this out and maybe it's just mine, but it is definitely not a variable speed fan. I powered on the NVR with no cameras connected, ambient temperature was around 10 degrees C. Left it for 15 minutes just to see if it would change, but nothing. I'm guessing...

4 lines intrusion detection firmware (5.2.5 base)

Actually, one more thing I nearly forgot. You will need to run this command either before or after replacing the davinci.tar.gz; as long as it's during the same session: sed -i 's/axf davinci/zxf davinci/' /dav/initrun.sh But other than that, yes that's it. Your language won't be changed. If...

4 lines intrusion detection firmware (5.2.5 base)

It's very likely that your language will change back to chinese if you flash it. If you want to replace the davinci binary, this tutorial will help: https://www.ipcamtalk.com/showthread.php/162-How-to-hack-5-1-2-firmware-on-China-region-cameras-to-English

5.2.X Modified Firmware: Increased line/intrusion/ROI limit to 4

I haven't looked at licence plate recognition specifically, but it is likely not possible or very difficult. I have looked into enabling more "smart" features as others have, and most of us have come to the conclusion that while it is possible to essentially flip a switch and enable the...

Costco Price Drop > Swann Rebranded DS-2CD2032-I 2-Pack

You don't even need to TFTP (although it works), you can just flash hikvision firmware through the web-interface.

Email alerts not working when Hikvision cameras connected to DS-7608NI-E2/8P

Your cameras can't even access the internet? The only thing you should need to do for the cameras to have outbound access is: 1) Enable virtual-host 2) Set gateway to 192.168.254.1 Setting a static route just allows you to access the cameras with 192.168.254.x addresses as well.

Do you mean HD TV? Cause I'm pretty sure I'd rather watch my camera footage than SD TV.. unless you're talking about night footage, in which case I'll take the SD TV

Hikvision FIRMWARE TOOLS - change language, extract files and create own firmware

I have no issue with the tool and I appreciate that you released the tool for free for everyone to use. My previous comment is not about your work at all. I apologize if I may have interpreted you incorrectly, but all I'm saying is that it should be welcomed for others to put effort into...
