We take our role in researching and exposing unethical activity, seriously around the world. For example, we paid for our Government Director to go to the UK to testify at the Uyghur Tribunal last month:

It's the official news agency of the PRC China government. And your attempt to refute it is "according to my chinese friends". Read the Xinhua report, the PRC has changed its child policy in the last few years.

We test camera models from all over the world. For our own internal use, we adopted a not made in PRC China policy.

How do you explain IPVM not selling products (like IPCamTalk does)? If I am truly this secretly greedy person, why do I do these things? Would I not make far more money running ads and selling cameras?

You are using your "thunderous style" to shout me down, which is fine, but it does not change the facts that IPVM willingly forgoes substantial profits to maintain independence and the ability to criticize unethical things both here in the US and around the world.

Not winning any friends by using the "Holier than thou" argument complaining about a "thunderous style". I get it, IPVM's business model is predicated on not taking advertisements, etc. You have said that about 30 times, saying it again won't help your case, it gets old after 10 or 15 times. @fenderman may rub you the wrong way. He may be obnoxious, rude, crude, whatever. I couldn't care less, as most folks on here, I suspect. He provides excellent advice, provides a service we find very valuable, and is not available anywhere else. The closest I have found to this source of information is on FB group, and half the time the responses there refer to here. The difference is that most of the FB folks are enamored with ReoLink and non-name eBay specials.

Rather than arguing with him about being a jerk, why don't you show where he is wrong, and Dahua is crap? While I have primarily Dahua cameras, I would switch in a heartbeat, for new cameras, if there was something better for my use. I suspect the vast majority of folks on here would as well.

So, so much agree with this. I know he is a reseller but he Blows away any U.S. company I have dealt with. There was a time, many decades ago, where some U.S. companies actually cared about the employees/products/customers. Andy bends over backwards for his customers, so extremely rare these days...Sad part is if he came here some Greedy U.S. company would probably snuff him out of business because of his pure business ethics.

As far as I can tell IPC is a business that offers products and services for the video security enthusiasts that span consumer / prosumer. The hallmark of this company is the endless past and current information as it relates to all manner of security and the industry as a whole.

I’ve never seen anything hidden about how they conduct or generate revenue. When asked (IPC) as it was here in this thread offered that insight and clarity as it relates to their business.

I’ve yet to see or read a single person that works at IPC or those who support the forums (moderators) ever drop into a thread offering information and than turn around to say no!

If they have something to say or insight to provide they do. If they have nothing to say they don’t. Can anyone say in this case John has conducted himself in the same manner???

When we publish negative test reports about Dahua and Hikvision, in your thought process, do we directly support the PRC? For example, Dahua Seatbelt And Phone Analytics Tested I don't think you can reasonably argue that criticizing PRC-made products supports the PRC?

So what you are getting at is if we say something positive about PRC products from our testing that supports the PRC? Yes.

My point is we test things fairly and accurately (it's the same for PRC Dahua as USA Verkada, even though we are critical about the ethics of both). You might as well make the same argument that the NY Times supports the PRC if it publishes something positive about the PRC. Axis, Dahua, Hikvision, Verkada, etc., these are all important companies in the market and we fairly and accurately report on that.

I do want the public to understand how we approach this and am happy to address concerns but I have zero fear or concern about Fenderman yelling at me.
