Boot Loop after Firmware DH_NVR5XXX-4KS2_MultiLang_V4.002.0000000.5.R.220729

Hi Everyone,

I have an NVR5224-24P-4KS2 and needed to update the firmware as we were having problems accessing the unit from any browser other than Internet Explorer.

We ran the DH_NVR5XXX-4KS2_MultiLang_V4.002.0000000.5.R.220729 Firmware and now the unit simply gets stuck at the boot screen (see below).

Is there anything that I can do to fix?

Hello. I am sorry to hear this happened to you.
I found your post immediately AFTER I pressed "upload" firmware to my NVR 5424-24P-4KS2 and got scared!!!
I waited a few minutes and my NVR finished the firmware update & restarted ok so I'm sorry I'm not sure why your 5224 did not work.

I found out why this happened...

Cameras made in china for the UK market with a document in Polish stating not to jump versions.

I was on something like 3.1 so would have needed to go 3.2, 3.3, 3.8, 4.0, 4.1, 4.2 (not factual versions but you get the picture).

Dahua are going to send me the 3.2 build again but to install it, need to RS232 on to some pins on the motherboard etc.

Be a bit cautious -

This may not be RS232, it's most likely serial TTL if the connector is on the motherboard.
The RS232 interface is generally via a DB9 connector on the device back panel.

An RS232 interface will not work on a serial TTL interface and may damage that type of interface as it uses much higher voltage signalling.
