Convert NVR to a standalone PoE Switch?

Hi all, I have a Swann NVR16-7095 that I've been using for a few years with 16 PoE ports built-in. I'd like to try moving from the NVR to Blue Iris. I already have a PC that I can dedicate to BI but not a PoE switch. Is there anyway that I can disable the NVR and use it solely as a PoE switch rather than having to purchase a new switch?

NVRs can not be changed readily into switches. You maybe able to find a way to forward the video rstp streams out so that you can also use Blue Iris to record though. I would try that.

That model does look like it could be a Hikvision OEM device.
Does that model of NVR use a separate IP address range for devices on the PoE ports from the range used by the LAN interface?
If the 'internal NIC' IP address range is 192.168.254.x that would tend to support that idea.
If not - the chances are that any devices on the PoE ports would simply be accessible from the LAN IP address range, such as the BI PC. Have you tried accessing the cameras on the NVR PoE ports from a PC on the LAN?

If not -

Some months ago I bought a 'spares and repairs' NVR4-7082 Swann NVR and found that, unlike Hikvision and Dahua PoE NVRs, the Swann NVR PoE ports behaved simply as a switch on the LAN, no separation at all from the LAN.
If your NVR works like that you could use it maybe temporarily while you explore BI then get a normal PoE switch.

Thanks for the suggestions. I was able to get BI working by using the IP address of the NVR for each camera and then selecting a different number for each camera. I'm very impressed with BI and will bite the bullet and purchase a PoE switch.
