Custom Firmware Downgrader 5.3.0 Chinese to 5.2.5 English

That would explain the problem - that firmware is for 2xx2 models. The 2xx5 are different hardware, and I think in terms of changing the language from Chinese are as yet unexplored in public on this forum, as far as I know they are for sale in China only. Others may confirm.
Presumably this firmware is the same as you currently have: http://www1.hikvision.com/cn/download_more_714.html
Can you ask the seller to supply firmware that has English menus? The on-line re-sellers claim English versions, possibly using modified firmware.

Thanks for responding. This clears things up a bit for me. I'll contact the reseller.

Hi Guys,

I think i have bricked my camera its a 2CD3132FD-IW. with firmware v5.30_15013 year 08/2015

I did the TFTP downgrade. Everything went fine got the done message. Camera rebooted etc.
But nothing to be seen in SADP. So checked my router and no IP adress for the camera. Flashed again...no luck

So i thought i flash it back to the original firmware to start over.
Did the TFTP (with the TFTP here to be downloaded) But now the message keeps hanging on Completed file, waited half an hour but no done message and the leds in the camera are off. Takes a long while to see a little blink.

What can i do???

EDIT:
Pfew after four hours i can wipe the sweat of my head. I guess you have to be patient to let the firmware come up.

Unfortunately the language is still in Chinese... beter go back to 5.3?? or isnt much difference in 5.25

EUREKA.... MTD hack done and extra happy customer.... thanks so much.

Another happy customer,

Note: Please remember, that at the moment there is no way to Update a Chinese model that came with 5.25 or 5.28 with any firmware this was HIK F@(k up and has nothing to do with any hack, if you try to upgrade even with the Chinese firmware you will end up coming back to this post.

I wasn't going to ;) Image quality is great. And the options in there are nice. Going to order another one.
Now i know what to do.
I must say its a bit of a ride for a Noob and the information is a bit scatered around the forum. Especially the MTD hack. Some commands were not working like "./nanddump -nof mtd5_temp /dev/mtd5"
Instead i have used the commands on this page http://www.ipcamtalk.com/showthread...F-WEEK)-mtd-Hack?p=29659&viewfull=1#post29659

This post should be a sticky to http://www.ipcamtalk.com/showthread.php/3337-Hikvision-Permanent-Region-Change?highlight=mtd or merge it in the latest mtd5 and mtd6 hack post.

This is not to criticize you or something, i admire your work.... but maybe it wil help others for a step by step guide.

Thanks again for your great work...

One question.... In search of another cam. Will this also work on the camera's ending on "5"?
With the h.265 codec?

Hello, thank you for this article! I turned on the camera 2CD2032F-i V5.3.0 150513!
However, it has not turned in two similar chambers 2CD2020F-i V5.3.0 and 150513 2CD2135F-IS V5.3.3 150514!
Firmware begins to upload and otanavlivaet - Resend required...
It is not clear, it turns out to 2032 and does not work on the 2020 and 2135!

Please read the first post again.
This is not for XXX5 or XXX0 model camera's

At present there is no fix available, but some Chinese seller have the firmware, ask your reseller you maybe lucky.

I need some assistance with an IP camera I upgraded to 5.3.0. I read through the forum threads and I followed whoslooking instructions. However, the device doesn't communicate with the tftp server. I disconnected the router, set the IP of my computer to 192.0.0.100, started tftpserver and wireshark. I filtered the wireshark msgs based on the mac address and I can see the DHCP requests going out but I don't see any IP packets based on source 192.0.0.X. Occasionally, I will see a loopback address 168.254.6.124 on HTTP but that's it. Can someone explain what I'm doing wrong?

Your ip must be set 192.0.0.128 nothing else will work, the camera looks for this, and this only

Thanks. I did it and still no activity on the tftp server. Since the DHCP requests times out, the cam IP get set to 169.254.6.144. BTW, I configured another computer (192.0.0.0.130) in the same subnet and I was able to ping the computer set to 192.0.0.128.

Move the tftp folder in the root of the c drive, this time when you run it tick both both private and local networks, then it should work

Okay, I turned off the firewall as well as malwarebytes and I moved the tftp server to the root directory under c:\hikvision. No luck yet. The screen shot shows failed pings to 192.0.0.64, successful pings to 192.0.0.100 (2nd computer--Also successfully pinged from there to 192.0.0.128), firewall turned off for both private and public networks, tftp server at 192.0.0.128, and location of the tftp server at c:\hikvision. I also attached a wireshark capture for the mac address ending in 2d:60. Still dumbfounded...

Thanks,

Tony
