Custom Firmware Downgrader 5.3.0 Chinese to 5.2.5 English

I tried it on a few different Windows versions and the original worked fine but the new one didn't complete. Strange.

Tried it on a 2032 and 2332. Odd that the old one worked fine and a few people are having issues with the new one.

Maybe someone can help me, my new bought cam is brikt after done the folling:
- I have a chinise version ds-2cd2032F-I, production date 07/2015, Firmware on the label 5.3.0. Was deliverd with 5.2.5 multi language.
I updated with the european version 5.3.0 and was not longer working.
I have recovered it using the provided procedure in this threat succesfull, changed mtdblock5&6 to get the English language instead of Chinees, all succesfull.
After that, I updated again to 5.3.0 (dont ask why, I always want the newest version).
And know, no firmware is succesfull anymore, also not the one provided in this threat. The firmware file is succesfull tranmitted using the TFTP server but dont get the message 'Device[192.0.0.64]system update completed!'. After a while, SADP is detecting the camare with IP address 192.168.1.64 with the bootloader firmware (version 4.0.8). Not pingable etc.
I tried a lot of different firmware's (chinese range 5.xx and european range 5.x.x.). None of them succesfull. I have no options left to get my cam working again.
Who has the golden tip for me?

I tried before, but the camera is not responding to Telnet (or SSH). Also not pingable. So even that recovery procedure is not working.

Your camera is not dead or bricked but running in safe mode (min-system, as it a 5.30 you only have one option after you did the mtd hack and that is to tftp the downgrader to the camera as you still have the hack in place no other firmware will work.

Thanks whoslooking, I understand the logic behind. I also tried your downgrade version already but the file is tranfered succesfully but not the message in the TFTP server that the system is updated. So after the downgrade software, still running in min-system mode.
If you know an other trick or I miss understood you, let me know!

Sorry that's the only option I know of for this, try it on another pc you never know.

DS-2CD3132-I Success (DS-2CD3132-I & 05/2015 & v5.3.0_150513 )


DS-2CD2032F-I Failure (DS-2CD2032F-I & 07/2015 & v5.3.0_150513)

just show " Completed file[C:\5.30 Downgrader\digicap.dav] transmit "
Not show " Device[192.0.0.64] system update completed! "

That's interesting, I only tested it on 5.30 05/2015 as that was the only model I had, but check to see if it did downgrade to 5.25
But stayed Chinese, like others had reported. If that is the case you will need to do the mtd hack.

I can't get to the point of : System Update Completed, stops after transfer is made.

The only version i have been able to get to work is the Chinese 5.3 ver.

Bought this from Amazon


Initially this camera was in English, i just don't know what version it was running. I could have sworn it was 5.1X, i initially did the mistake of trying to update it with the 5.3 english, which placed it in a boot loop.

After that i have tried every firmware i could find, including this one to no avail, none show "complete" except the 5.3's and i could only get the chinese one to actually load the UI.

You should use be able to use this firmware with tftp, if the camera comes up in Chinese use the mtd hack.

Unfortunately it never completes with this firmware, i never get the "complete" message via the tftp.

Use another pc, this seems to happen for some people using Windows 10, it's some sort of PC problem with tftp, as you can see from the other posts

Will this downgrade work with the English version of the software on a DS-2CD2332-I?

ie English 5.2.0150122 (upgraded to 5.3.0 15084) -> downgrade to Englsh 5.2.5 ?

To restore functions removed by 5.3.0

Allows Chinese region Cameras to become English to work with your NVR without the region mis-match issue.

Tested with my own cameras.

Telnet restored

Please remember this is a Ghost Firmware and does not change the region of the camera.

Your Chinese camera is still Chinese, but works like a US/EU model.

If you update to another firmware it will be Chinese!

All the normal warnings use at your own risk.

If your camera has a firmware sticker below 5.2.5 (not including) you can use any firmware, you don't have to use this one. If you read the posts you will understand

With an English camera with 5.30 that had a sticker with 5.20 you are still able to tftp any firmware you want back onto the camera.

Well I tried updating 5.2.8 Chinese to 5.3.0 because I have had some problems with video playback. Well surprise, situation got worse as the update failed. TFTP not working despite numerous attempts.

It won't work on 2XX5 model only 2XX2 OR 3XX2.
