Thanks. I usually get cryptic garbled robocalls from my bank about stuff like this (also one of the bigger banks).

Well this is even stranger. After I was finally able to purchase the camera via aliexpress (10 attempts), and pay for it with my credit card, the pending payment from my credit card is gone. Guess I'm back at square one. I'll contact Andy.

maybe not, give it a day or two just in case. could be a pre-authorization and it will show back up once it actually ships.

Anyone have a datasheet for the SD49225T-HNI? I can't seem to find it on the Dahua website?
 
Has anyone tried this cam with the IR turned on to get a good face ID? And if so, at what distance is the IR effective? All I've seen so far are shots in daylight mode. I'm very interested in purchasing this cam for the front of my house but there aren't any streetlights so I'll be depending on the IR at night.
 
The only difference would be IVS, for HN vs HNI, from what I understand reading here...

Do you need Blue Iris to effectively run one of these intelligent PTZs? Im getting ready to purchase an NVR, but I dont want to limit myself if I cannot effectively use one of these cams in the future.
 
BlueIris has nothing to do with it, the IVS and AutoTracking are built in

Forgive me, my only experience with cameras is some wifi cams i HAD with ADT. I do not like purchasing something that limits me in the future (which is why, for my camera project, I just ran 1300ft of cat6 STP CMR in my house as opposed to cat5e UTP).

As it sounds, if i have a pro-series dahua nvr I should not be limited in the camera I select. This question is likely best for another thread, but why do people use Blue Iris then?

Because I can use any brand of camera I want, it does a lot more than an NVR, it's running on a computer with a full blown OS, customizability, etc etc.
 
well certain features other cameras offer are not guaranteed to be recognized by the NVR; mixing and matching camera manufacturers is alot less painfull with a PC NVR.. and PC NVR has countless features you'll never find on a hardware NVR.

if you just want simple recording/playback.. a simple NVR does the job... but its nothing compared to what can be achieved with a more robust software NVR running on PC hardware.. but now you have a PC server that has to be managed accordingly with a learning/training curve; where as a hardware NVR is set it and forget it and most people can figure it out as they go.

Thanks. I do have an older computer I no longer use. Perhaps i'll investigate upgrading the OS, ram, and HD and just using that! I have a few weeks before I need to start this project....

Anyway, back to the topic at hand:

Can you run multiple trip wires? For example, using auto-tracking.... one in my driveway, to capture coming/going vehicles, and one on my sidewalk, for foot traffic?
