See this thread:Was looking for this on Empiretech, but doesn't appear to be in stock. Has anyone ordered this camera recently? Is Andy still checking this forum?
yes, crazy bad, but most models i get enough stock before Chinese new year, right now the bad lack of stock model is SD49225T-HN, SD59225U-HNI, SD49225T-HN-W, SD52C225U-HNI. Other models i have enough stocks. So still can be same day shipping when order made.
This one still have to wait 2 weeks, then i have enough stock to go!Thanks! I'll bide my time and wait until Andy has stock. The KKmoon 4x zoom will have to hang on a little longer
Did you ask the seller for a return shipping label? Please don't take this the wrong way, but that is how my camera acted before it finally died. Just 3 months after I got it, the problem you had started. After another 2 or 3 months, the problem worsened to the point all I got was a completely black image. If I played with the Iris and exposure settings I could get it to show an image. But this was only briefly. As soon as the light changed or I moved the cam it would go to a completely black screen again. Well, I decided to let it sit like this to see what would happen. After about a week, and with everything set to default, I had a normal picture again as if nothing had happened. Then after about a couple of more months, the problem returned and all I get is the black screen showing only the time/date camera name overlay. Letting it sit this time had no effect, so after 3 weeks I decided to try and get it repaired/replaced. Well, that's on hold right now because even sending it back to Hong Kong via the cheapest way, it's going to cost over $100/USD. So, here it sits in it's box, until I can come up with the money.
One thing I did notice once I pulled it down to sit on the bench to play with it, is that when playing with the exposure and iris settings you hear a loud click coming from the camera just before the image appears. FWIW looks like a stuck IR cut filter as a guess.
I posted about my SD49225T-HN going to a white screen a while ago.
After restoring it to the settings that I had saved, I noticed that it was not focusing correctly, and in some instances not focusing at all.
I went into the Settings>Camera Conditions>Focus & Zoom and tried several things like changing from Semi-Auto Focus to full Auto, and changing the sensitivity. None of this corrected the situation.
On that screen at the bottom I noticed the "Lens Init" button. I had never used it because I did not know what it did, but figured nothing ventured nothing gained.
Clicked on that button and WALA, focus is back to normal.
Thought I would post in the event that others are experiencing focus issues.

No. It was purchased from BEC (Andy) and honestly I doubt he would do something like this. Do the math. He basically would not make any money on this camera if he had to pay shipping both ways, plus the initial shipping when the camera was first purchased. DHL is more expensive than the US Postal Service, which is where I got the return shipping quote from.Did you ask the seller for a return shipping label?
Wouldn't hurt to ask. With his shipping setup, he should be able to get you a lower cost.No. It was purchased from BEC (Andy) and honestly I doubt he would do something like this. Do the math. I think I found the problem, I set GMT to -4 for DST.Ever since daylight savings time, my PTZ jumps an hour behind. I go into settings and sync it with the PC, but within a few hours it goes back an hour. I'm in the EST zone, and it is set for GMT -5. Any clues what is doing this?
I just got the powerline adapters from Trendnet. The speeds I tested in my current home are 125Mbps and the SD49225 still works perfectly!! PTZ functions are still fast and I see no delay. It literally functions like it is attached to a router.
This thing is incredible. Now I need to figure out how to get another waterproof gang box so that I can fit this adapter and the POE+ injector. The problem is that this adapter eats up two outlets as shown and if I buy the pass-through PLA adapter, it does not fit in this gang box.
i bring you the starlight ptz (SD49225T-HN) Lite Series not to be confused with SD59225T-HNI

why limit yourself...poe+ is easy to add to any environment...I suppose that if you don't juice it up to POE+, you won't get an IP (which is why I had to return my IMPORX PTZ). Is anybody making a good mini PTZ camera out there, i.e., needing POE only?
Pardon my ignorance, but don't you need to plug into AC in order to get POE+?why limit yourself...poe+ is easy to add to any environment...
