Dahua Firmware Mod Kit + Modded Dahua Firmware

Thx corvet35,

Can I execute this script from /tmp on the camera?

Thx corvet35,

I suggest making a new folder on the NFS/NAS mount or SD card.
Not sure how you'll get it off of /tmp otherwise.
Also /tmp might be too small?

Thank you for your suggestion.
I will try to see if I can dump the image.

EDIT: The image is copied to a NAS share (see image)

(sorry all noob questions)
Do I need to make a *.bin file from this output?

It looks like the firmware Mod-kit could not extract img in new firmware. But binwalk can extract it. Maybe Dahua has changed the header of image file and it's a Non-Standard SquashFS Images. @cor35vet: pls take a look.
Thanks

A link to the firmware would be helpful ...

you need this firmware version
DH_IPC-HX4XXX-Eos4_Chn_PN_Stream3_V2.600.0000.4.R.20170605.bin
If you change anything in this version of the firmware, change the checksums and the firmware will not to update

Yes you get an error when trying to install on IPC-HDW4233C-A-V2. I think this is an Eos4 series.

@cor35vet
Is it possible to create a firmware for the Eos4 series?

Device Type IPC-HDW4233C-A-V2
Software Version 2.600.0000.2.R, Build Date: 2017-03-18

2017-06-05 firmware link:
http://download.dahuatech.com/kitDo...4_Chn_PN_Stream3_V2.600.0000.4.R.20170605.bin

The error message is: "File unmatch, Upgrade failed! Some functions have been closed, reboot device now?"

I have IPC-HDBW4431R-ZS camera in chinese. i have downloaded firmware For NAND-Eos (-ZS) cameras but it does not look like it liked it and upgrade was not done as at same version in Chinese.
current firmware 2.420.Dahua 00.22.R, build: 2016-12-09

Please help

Try to hard reset the camera (hold reset switch on mainboard for about 10 seconds while the camera is powered) and then apply the modded firmware (NAND version from OP).

Apperently there are two version of this camera:
  • build 2016-12-09
  • build 2016-07-24
But this model (HDBW4431R-ZS) is not listed anywhere on Dahua's site.
Maybe someone does have the original firmware of this camera and want to share it?

A link to the firmware would be helpful ...
It seems Dahua uses new version of squashfs that the mod-kit could support. I took a look at the header of 2 img files of DH_NVR4XXX-4KS2 and 4K and saw that it's different.
Attachments are files header comparison and config file for NVR4XXX-4KS2 which I created and used.
@cor35vet: any news?

When i reset this cam lens move ,but reset not help me,on ali shop xinray say if i cant find this cam througt configtool i can send it back. But i dont want to spend a lot of time and money for sending. I start wireshark , but it can not see anything

Are this camera has uart?
Yeah, check out the recovery link in my signature on tips how to find the UART pins.
If you get a U-Boot shell you can do setenv dh_keyboard 0 and then boot to see the log and get a shell on UART.

Hello! I have four IPC-HFW4300r-z. I try to update firmware to new DH_IPC-HX5(4)XXX-Adreia_Eng_P_Stream3_V2.420.0009.0.R.20151106.zip (from dahua site)
3 of them updated success, but 1 not.
I don`t now why HWID changes to another type camera. (HFW2300R-Z, my camera is HFW4300R-Z)
Firmware updating process is good, but camera not avalible on port 80. It`s going bootloop (i'm using ping command to know about it). There are open ports: 23, 3800, 42323.
I think the trouble is wrong HWID. How can i change it to right one by telnet? Please, help me. And sorry for my English.
