If they did that plus waterproof it that would probably be pretty popular.

Make sure your cabling is good and you terminated your cabling properly..

and no you cannot use IVS to move the PTZ, you need to buy the Intelligent model for this capabilities.

Im considering the sd29204t-gn from amazon ($168 free ship) to be used to watch barn swallows nest. i'll be able to mount this < ptz 24" away.

anyone know what the minimum focus distance for this ptz?

Found the answer: Close Focus Distance 100mm~ 1000mm 4in to 39in

1x=100m? 4x=1000mm? Not sure why there is range. Do i need to be back 39in to get the 4x to focus?

I meet this problem for the SD29204T-GN-W, any guys know how to fix the camera?


1. Reset the machine (via holding the WPS button long time during boot)
2. Machine gets 192.168.1.108 address
3. Two open ports (23 amd 3800)
4. can connect telnet user: root, pass: vizxv
5. kill /var/tmp/upgraded
6. start /usr/sbin/upgraded
7. use windows machien with generic config tool (v1.0.7 2012)
8. Configtool on MAC does not see the cam (as I think it looks for other port number and mac app cannot select port only IP)
9. Download the PAL firmware for it (dh_sd-mao-themis_en_p_stream3_ivs_v2.422.0000.3.r.20161009.zip with crc32 = bc4b317e
10. this is NOT A ZIP FILE, binwalk shows it as having a LOT of archives (with sonia.zip) and images
11. When uploading this to the cam via config tool it says:

I am also using one of these in a stable and it works fine. I can make a snapshot for you tonight in complete darkness to show how it performs.
A difference I noticed is that the IR on this camera looks quite focused. The IR is also much stronger than that of a IPC-HFW1320s which I had earlier.
I made a snapshot with the old camera to compare, but I can't find it anymore. Might have deleted it .

I remember something back in the day about using a magnet and moving it around the exterior of the camera to unstuck a stuck ir filter. Something like that.

Typically its just got bound up, setting it to the opposite mode (Color if its stuck OFF, and B&W if stuck ON) and smacking it around a bit will unbind it and you'll hear it click.

Tried smacking it, switch color modes, etc... no joy... gonna give my nail magnet a try now. Update, magnet and banging harder not successful.

Is there a way to open the cam and fix it?

So this is not common for this cam? Guessing i should return it while under warranty.

Stuck with B&W until the replacment cam comes to fix the IR Cut stuck problem. But Im really impressed with the IQ of this cam alone with the short focal distance and 4x optical zoom. Can't wait to see this in color.. This cam is about 6 inches from the nest with this video being 4x zoomed

Mine stopped working for some reason. I could still ping it and it would reply, but when trying to access the web interface I get a ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED. After resetting this problem still remains...
Anyone got a clue what could cause this?

Sometimes I can connect to it for a few seconds, but then I get a connection refused error again.

Edit: Weird, if I disable the connection to the internet on my router the camera keeps working. Once I enable it, it stops working.

Based on my test, seems cameras only reboot when they have a valid gateway, if you point gateway address to a non online ip it works fine.
Later i updated the firmware, and that problem just disapeared (it happen with all the hfw4431s i have)
I used this DH_IPC-HX5X3X-Rhea_Eng_P_Stream3_V2.460.0000.7.R.20170306.bin

So I just came across this thread: 7 Dahau cameras lost connectivity
Changing the gateway address seems to have fixed the problem, but the questions that remain:
- What is causing this?
- Is there a firmware upgrade to fix it?
