imho, time for some lawyer to sue the idiots who are doing "pranks" at 3am for disturbing the peace, easy enough to find the evidence.
A few civil penalties would go a long way to curb the stupidity.

Yeah,as much as I despise TikTok, banning it would set a precedence that would have no end.
There are lots of narrow houses on parts the Oregon coast, some as narrow as 10 feet. It's just from cramming as many beachfront lots as possible. Don't need wide FOV cameras for them!

ah .. ok, time to review the nuance here ..
1) China did not, and does not allow ANY foreign controlled Cloud / Social Media service .. this is for numerous good reasons, as they want control of the information space
2) USA and others fail to apply reciprocal rules ( think "reciprocal tariffs" .. in quotes because the numbers shown were not "tariffs" per se .. )
3) China is completely exploiting both US based and their own based Cloud / Social Media services for informational warfare
So .. and this is a good question, How does democracies combat an opponent who is taking advantage of informational warfare against you ?
For TikTok, ownership change would make a difference.
Remember if you wanted to start a company in China, you would be forced to cede 51% ownership to someone in the CCP ( one of the top dog families ), as well as cede your IP.
( note, I actually have personal knowledge on this .. )
Naturally, there are numerous issues within each nation's controlling oligarchy ( we have all seen the censorship issues in the USA, UK, Australia .. all reportedly "democratic" based on a solid rule of law .. ) that they want 100% control of information.
We can see the issues in the USA in terms of bias and the bi-polarization of the people, partially due to corruption from the 2 party system, as well as those who control the narratives in media.
Part of the issues we do see are based on the influences of outside nation states like China and Russia in their battle to asset influence to get USA to allow them to increase their spheres of power ( Ukraine and others for Russia, and Taiwan Tibet and others for China )
