Firmware for newer dahua cams as well as detailed specs available here

Interesting. I am running “2.622.0000000.7.R.R4.2510.9A.NR, Build Date: 2018-04-04” and when I
checked for new firmware from my camera, it says I have the latest and clearly this is not the case.

From the site, I see two files below which might be for my PAL camera. Do I need to install the PTZ file too? If so, which order I need to update. I assume the PAL firmware follows by PTZ file, correct? Also, how stable is the latest PAL firmware?

[PTZ]General_SD49XXXS-HN_V3.02.93.R.170518

[PAL]DH_SD-Mao-Rhea_Eng_P_Stream3_IVS_V2.623.0000000.2.R.180801

My dad's most recent SD49225T-HN was running the same firmware as yours, and having issues with exposure (all-white video for hours after sunrise, etc). I'm updating it to the NTSC version right now. In my experience PAL and NTSC firmwares are fully interchangeable on dahua cameras. I'm doing the main firmware first, then the PTZ firmware.

Update: this is running fine so far, although it hasn't even been an hour.

Yeah, I also updated my firmware to NTSC instead of PAL and so far so good. With NTSC, I can now bump the frame rate to 30 which is nice. The new firmware enables the P2P setiing by default so I had to turn it off again.

I didn’t know that the new PTZ firmware is for both NTSC and PAL. I was under the impression that the PTZ firmware is for PAL. Are you sure you need this PTZ firmware for NTSC?

Is there any newer version of FW for the SD6CE225U-HNI ? Currently running V2.623.0000000.13.R.E4.2512.UN.NR, Build Date: 2018-12-05. Seeing some issues with tracking an general performance so was hoping there may be a newer version.

Thanks

Tracking is always a crap shoot, no matter the firmware.

I've purchased one IPC-HDBW4231F-AS and two IPC-HDW5231R-ZE from @EMPIRETECANDY. I've got them on my dedicated Home Automation subnet that doesn't have access to the internet (blocked at pfSense firewall). I've got a stream from them on my TinyCam Pro app. Sweet! Now I'm looking for NTSC firmware since they only have PAL. All three are currently running:

System Version 2.622.0000000.31.R, Build Date: 2018-08-13

I'm also noticing that the VERSION page doesn't tell me the model number of each camera, so I had to figure out their model based on the video they were streaming :)

It wasn't easy to find the web page for these cameras on Dahua's site. The site's search bar was not helpful. And looking through the DahuaWiki didn't help either. I had to use DuckDuckGo to search for the product page. When I found it, the firmwares listed were from 2017.

Maybe there's not a later version of the firmware, and that's fine. Just wanted to know where to find the firmware for future needs. Thanks!

It does not matter these days, if it is PAL or NTSC, because you are using them with digital signals, not analog(PAL, SECAM, NTSC).

Checked mine:

Device Type DH-SD6C225U-HNI
System Version V2.623.0000000.13.R.E4.2512.8S.NR, Build Date: 2018-12-05
WEB Version 3.2.1.667589
ONVIF Version 16.12(V2.4.3.574996)
PTZ Version V2.300.0000000.10.RHNL_170926_24381

@Graatz thanks, that is what mine is running as well. Hoping we see a FW update soon that allows a little finer tuning on tracking with IVS features (intrusion boxes etc). Would be great to set horizontal and vertical limits on tracking. @EMPIRETECANDY, Andy if you do have a conversation with the Dahua folks would be great to suggest this feature. The current PTZ limits only work for manual control and scan uses but not for Auto Track or Tracking through IVS features. I find often times that my PTZ wants to track further than it should and end up looking at a wall which if I could add limits would really help. Hopefully others would see this benefit too.

Hi there,

I'm struggling to check my firmware updates. I have bought the following from @EMPIRETECANDY:

4 x IPC-HDW5831R-ZE
1 x NVR5208-8P-4KS2

The NVR is on:
3.216.0000000.0Build Date:2018-05-30

The cameras are on:
2.622.0000000.23.R,2018-03-30

I've grabbed what I thought was the latest FW from the Dahua wiki site for the NVR and it rejected it (I was using the zip file).

Where am I going wrong?

Thanks!

First, do you have a problem that you are trying to solve with a firmware update?
If not, best advice is to leave it alone. If it's not broke, don't fix it.

I want to compare the current firmware level I have vs. the latest firmware available. With that (hopefully) review the release notes to see what bugs/features are addressed. All my equipment is kept up to date in terms of software releases (NAS / WiFi kit / Switches etc). I would prefer to keep to the latest FW version if possible. Is there a risk with Dahua firmware updates?

Personally i would say there is a risk with any firmware update on any device. As with any firmware upgrade you risk bricking the device or at the very least having extended downtime. I would take @looney2ns advice and leave well alone unless the firmware update is going to address a specific issue that your device currently faces.

Of course if this is just a hobby to you and your cameras are not "mission critical"... work-away... maybe have a read of the un-bricking thread so you are prepared for that possibility
