Hi ! How are you ? I have found this forum and i wish to ask you some questions . I have read the instructions and i have something crystal clear
i have found that i must use dahua cam +blueiris+ openvpn for connections+ asus router .
I would need a security system for a small shop 5X8 m 40m2 with 1 entrance . So i was thinking to put 2 dahua cams one for the entrance and another for the rest of the shop . Which are you recommendations about it ? Any alarm with siren that could be used in a such case ?

Please read the IP Cam Talk Cliff Notes and other items in the IP Cam Talk Wiki. (read on a real computer, not a phone). The wiki is in the blue bar at the top of the page.

Read How to Secure Your Network (Don't Get Hacked!) in the wiki also.

Quick start
1) If you do not have a wired monitored alarm system, get that first
2) Use Dahua starlight cameras or Hikvision darkfighter cameras if you need good low light cameras.
3) use a VPN to access home network (openVPN)
4) Do not use wifi cameras.
5) Do not use cloud storage
6) Do Not use uPNP, P2P, QR, do not open ports,
7) More megapixel is not necessarily better.
8) Avoid chinese hacked cameras (most ebay, amazon, aliexpress cameras(not all, but most))
9) Do not use reolink, ring, nest, Arlo cameras (they are junk), no cloud cameras
10) If possible use a turret camera , bullet collect spiders, dome collect dirt and reflect light (IR)
11) Use only solid copper, AWG 23 or 24 ethernet wire. , no CCA (Copper Clad Aluminum)
12) use a test mount to verify the camera mount location. My test rig: rev.2
13) (Looney2ns)If you want to be able to ID faces, don't mount cams higher than 7ft. You want to know who did it, not just what happened.
14) Use a router that has openVPN built in (Most ASUS, Some NetGear....)
15) camera placement use the calculator... IPVM Camera Calculator V3
16) POE list PoE Switch Suggestion List
17) Camera Sensor size, bigger is general better Sensor Size Chart
18) Camera lens size, a bigger number give more range but less field of view. Which Security Camera Lens Size Should I Buy?

Keep in mind that video systems are for surveillance and an actual alarm system, contacts, motion sensors, control panel and siren, are for security. Do not rely on a video system to trigger an intrusion alarm. Install an alarm system, then a video surveillance system that records 24/7 and keeps the video going back a week or two.

I have an old Honeywell hardwired alarm system. I have outside horns mounted inside the house 120DB. I have two horns mounted out side in the eves (front and back) There are inside motion detectors, Door switches, break glass sensors, window switches. I have door switches on some of my closets. I have different zones so my three dogs do not set off the alarms.

I do not use WIFI alarms, i do not recommend wifi alarms.

I use the cameras for surveillance, I do not use then for security. I do not even use the camera systems notification emails or SMS.

Why are not using the camera notifications emails or smses? are not reliable?

You're in Spain so I don't know what is available to you, but I've always used Ademco/Honeywell equipment. Keep in mind I ran a security company for about ten years and we installed and maintained systems for our customers. I just upgraded my own home system significantly with half a dozen infrared detectors, a few glass break detectors, every exterior opening has at least a contact, every interior door has a contact along with all the closet doors, added wireless components to protect the equipment/garden sheds, added multiple indoor sirens and multiple outdoor sirens. The system has additional power supplies to run all the additional active devices and sirens and to provide additional stand-by power. Along with the wireless protection for the sheds, I added wireless controls to arm, disarm and provide "panic" activation. The system is monitored using both IP and GSM connections.

I do use email and SMS notifications from the video surveillance system as well. Yes, there are "false" triggers from moving shadows but, yesterday while at an event, I got a notification and saw a package being delivered by Amazon. If you're willing to accept the "false" triggers they can be helpful and informative.

I want +99% reliability. That is both false positives, false negatives. Cameras can not do that. A hardwired alarm system can. The alarm system uses a local monitoring service, so the cops get called. The sirens go off.
