Hikvision camera admin password reset tool

I spent hours factory resetting everything... everything is how it should be but cameras are still not showing any link.
In what way is everything how it should be? Can you access the cameras web GUI?
Are the cameras LAN-connected, or connected to NVR PoE ports? If the latter - how are you getting SADP to see them?
What does SADP show for the cameras status? (screenshot)

If these cameras (what model are they?) are EN/upgradeable I think your next easiest fix attempt would be to try a firmware update to the same version that is currently installed. That will refresh the firmware, reset the configuration, hopefully the status should become 'Inactive' at which point the NVR Plug&Play if they are PoE-connected should allow adding, or if LAN-connected you can change the IP address with SADP to match how they were configured in the NVR.

Both local GUI (monitor connected to NVR) and web browser are both unable to view any live feeds, thus showing "No Link."

Cameras are connected via NVR switch ports using PoE. They're all showing a status of "active" in SADP.

I upgraded FW in the NV months ago due to a breech in the NVRs (HikVision). That was successfully upgraded to FW 3.4.3.

Model: DS-7604NI-E1, the cameras are DS-2CD2132F (qty-4).

Trust me, everything was working great over a year and it just happened since I posted this question about trying to reset the passwords on the cameras, not the NVR.

SADP says the cameras are all in "active" and I am unable to try to even upgrade FW to the cameras.. there is no access to them.... It looks like I must send the exported Key file for each cameras, send them to Hikvision support and have them send the secure codes but where do I put those secure codes? I did tried what your said in the "Forgot password" and input new password but that's all it says, it doesn't say, secure code. That's what is wrong with the documentation of Hikvision. Very poorly writ3en as there are missing steps.

In addition, I do know how to, from Local GUI screen, you double click on the bottom left corner to bring up the recovery screen and it automatically enters the SN, then all you need to do is enter the secure code, but it says failed... So, technically, I'm a sitting duck.

If all else fails, I'll RMA it.

SADP can see the cameras on the same wiring, even if they are in a different IP address range.
If the PC isn't in the same range, browser access will not work.
A screenshot would be useful to show that detail. Presumably you're using the 3.x version of SADP and not the obsolete version that comes on the CD? Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Technology Co. Ltd.
However - the cameras are on NVR PoE ports, but you can see them in SADP, so presumably the PC is wired to a spare NVR PoE port.
What are the camera IP addresses and how do they compare with the IP addresses of the NVR PoE channels that they are connected to?

Suggestion to try:
Note down the firmware version as shown by SADP, and download the same version from here : DOWNLOAD PORTAL
Use this firmware to do an upgrade / refresh of the camera firmware using the Hikvision tftp updater tool. That does not require any passwords.
The tool and instructions (not the firmware) can be found in the first link here : Custom Firmware Downgrader 5.3.0 Chinese to 5.2.5 English
Basically, the process is : drop the tftp update files into their own folder on the PC, unzip the firmware file into the same folder.
With the PC wired to an unused PoE port on the NVR, change the PC IP address to 192.0.0.128
Start the tftpserve.exe program.
Click OK when Windows asks if you want the firewall not to block the program.
Power cycle the camera - ie unplug it / plug it back in again.
Observe the tftp updater window for status messages, close it when it's finished. You don't want it to do anything bad to any other Hikvision devices that might just reboot while it's running.
Keep your fingers crossed, evaluate any changes.

The laptop is on the same LAN of the internal switch of the NVR - 192.168.254.* - Note: This range is a segregated LAN, which is not the same as the local LAN I use everyday. The one port, not the unused PoE port is the one that goes into my router's switch port (Linksys). So basically, I can see everything - both the NVR and cameras. laptop is currently connected via an unused PoE port (working port that the camera was sending feeds just fine but the remaining 3 are all locked out, password protected.

The SADP is running v3.* which was downloaded and used by Hikvision Download tools. Same link you sent me: SADP V3.0.0.10(New!)

The NVR was upgraded to FW: 3.4.3 but, today, I just realized that there is a new FW released, which I didn't get any notification: V3.4.92 build 170228. The GUI is so much different than previously installed FW 3.4.3.

This will not work if I am unable to access the cameras. I wonder if I took those cameras and put them in the local switch LAN that is also PoE+ capable and perform a factory reset or downgrade like you mentioned? No?

Pardon the ignorant questions.

That's not a problem - but I have asked some specific questions and made some specific suggestions aimed at getting more facts and resolving the problem.

Great.. I didn't want to be rude or give you a hard time. I know how this internet is, but with the tone/fascial expressions, it makes it tough to gage online personality. :-)

I was given a replacement cameras because those secure codes, in my knowledge are useless without being able to access them in the first place. I have these cameras set to "Plug'n'plug, which should automatically use the internal NVR password.

In additions to everything else, I upgraded the FW on the NVR, I believe I mentioned that already and the GUI is very different and cleaner. I noticed that I have the ability to view the passwords for each of the cameras, which is excellent.

After getting camera replacements, only 3 of the 4, now the r4th camera is showing, "No Link." I checked the username and password, they're all the same. How weird is that? If they're the same, why No Link? Reboot didn't help, deleting camera won't work because it's not being seen on the screen.

Bottom line, why does this BS occur and why must it be this complicated? It's simple programming to tell the camera to use the NVR's password. It just appears to be a bug in the FW for the cameras.

On a totally different note, I got my Hik-online transferred to Hik-connect, and everything is working as intended, much better, IMO.

Hi, i have this model DS-2CD2155F-IS with firmware 5.4. When i try to active DHCP, i have this message " device locked". i use sdk 3.0.0.10.

EDITED POST, UPDATED, PROBLEM SOLVED!!

Been a while since I have visited this page. Turned into a "set it and forget it" scenario with my Blue Iris and HIKVISION cams over the last few years. Ordered 6 newer cams as upgrades and add-ons and am working on pulling the rest of my hair out trying to get logged in. any help is appreciated.

ordered from Ebay user: hicomputerlivecity got 6 of them for $410 delivered... and at the moment, i have $410 worth of paper weights.

newest version of SADP shows DS-2CD2035-I DS-2CD2035-I20170210AACH710256665 for a model and serial,,,, Software V5.4.23build 161020,,,,, DSP Version V7.3 build 160713,,,, Status Active

Tried the online password reset tool that was provided in this thread and got a whole bunch of nothing. Once i got the info entered correctly with the serial and dates, i got a message stating that I could not reset the password "reason 2022 or 2202.. can't remember.. either way, it didn't work. :-(

Seller stated that the software can NOT be changed or it will be unusable...

Tried the login credentials with Admin being the username and I tried several passwords to include: admin, pass, password, root, 1234, 12345, 123456789abc, user, and DIEcameraDIE

Waiting to hear back from the seller, but no luck yet.

the "forgot password" link in the new SADP let me export a file that says: AwAAAE7JnXMkCBUyZNGptXBMuioYunxhOs1JFL/MK3oLTm6P7ZM1itNzYx/N0tDdURf/rDLW3XiHYp6DPinkKc0sIRRsEYKcsgbQsCFPKVaw1dG4fpsQSnMTnc7oUypEkaFAMsgJp2tXvTMkr0bkhbt8T6ducrIvRFx3dJuzJBM38PtuDS-2CD2035-I20170210AACH710256665

Solution: Had to hold the reset button in while applying power, and continued to hold the reset button for about 30 seconds until it reset, Then the SADP tool would show "Inactive" and allow me to set a new password.

Hey,

I found a way to reset the passwords on the cameras without going through the hassles with SADP tool. Physically take the glass cover off the camera, disconnect the RJ45 jack to the camera female port, plug in the RJ45 jack back into port on the camera RJ45 jack connector and quickly press and hold the reset button down a minute, then let it boot. It will reset the password on the camera to use its NVR's password. If that didn't work, do it again. It worked for me first time. :)

Factory reset it... use my comment above previous post.

Great! But i can't found reset button on my cd2155 dome

Have not used Alibaba type of security cameras as of late. I speak from a Hikvision user. However, I would think a reset button should be on all of them to help fix IP conflicted issues. Check your manual. Take cover off the camera, and look for some form of a button, which allows you to reset the IP camera.

i just found it ! i have english firmware, i will not have chinese after reboot?

You need Chinese version to do the FW upgrade/update. Please check instruction before downloading FW to ensure that it has Chinese version (allows to switch back to Chinese from English).

ok, but if i do hard reset? i just have a password reset? i don't want update firmware.

If you do a reset on the camera, it resets to factory default to "Plug-n-Play" and the IP will use the password from the NVR. This is how I did it in Hikvision cameras. It worked like a charm.

After that, I upgraded FW on both the NVR and cameras from my respective products at Hikvision.

Addendum: The FW did say that it has multiple languages available. I would assume if you get English, you should be able to switch the language to Chinese.

Anyone know how to get a reset on a Hikvision DS-2CD3345-I? Much appreciated.

Please review my comments in the previous post to reset the IP Camera. But to give you a quick idea.. The reset button is inside the camera glass cover. Remove the camera glass cover, you'll see the reset button planted on the board. Pull the RJ45 plug out, plug it back in, hold reset button for a few seconds, then release.. camera should reset and use the NVR's password. If not, do it again. Worked for me.

Louiseliu007 Is my new best friend. If you need a reset, hit him up on Skype. I had a 2CD2342 turret with a forgotten password. I was reset with less than 20 minutes from contact request to happiness. Thank you, thank you, thank you Louise!
