I tried the toll but the password dosent work for me I added the correct date dvr version 3
Hello. If you want someone to verify that you entered the information correctly, you just need to post screenshots of:

1) The full serial number of the NVR shown in SADP
2) The full startup time of the NVR shown in SADP. Reboot the NVR before you load SADP so you can be sure the startup time is still the NVR's current time.
3) The entire password reset tool, filled out by you.

If you are certain you filled it out correctly, including the NVR's current date and time with all leading digits (e.g. 05 for the month), then your NVR is probably using too new of firmware...

The one where you tried with the NVR Model number removed should have worked as far as I can tell. I'm not familiar with NVR firmware versions so I'm not sure if v3.1.8 is too new for this old password reset procedure.

If the NVR has a reset button anywhere, it might be all you need to use. Otherwise you will need to contact your seller and ask for help, or contact Hikvision directly, though if the NVR was purchased from an unauthorized seller then Hikvision might refuse to assist and the seller may not be able to help.

I read in the manual that this version has the old password reset, maybe the version of the sadp is wrong? Do i need to use a specific sadp version?

Your SADP version looks fine, since it has the Security Code field. You were putting the code in that field, right?

firmware of my DVR is V3.1.13build 151127. Although I tried the tool which is provided in thread but not working with my DVR.
As per my observation this tool is for Hikvision Camera only.
Please help if you have any good tool for DVR.

Hi,

with the version of SADP that toy have you can't reset the password with the link you found in this thread, with the version you have you would need to go to forgot password and export a file send it to hikvision and they would sent you back a file to upload and then you can reset the password. Try downloading the older version SADP and do as seen on the thread with the link and the serial number, best way to do it is first restarting the NVR so you'll have the correct start time.

I do not see a box called Serial Code or Security Code in SADP. I see a box below "Enable DHCP" which appears to be the password box. Ther is a "Reset Password" area below, but I still get "Failed to modify settings". ID:001". I am accessing the camera over my network, it is not behind a Hikvision NVR. My camera is a DS-2CD2342WD-I 4MP turret. Software version 5.3.3 build 150630. Trying to change IP address and gateway. Using SADP V2.2.3.5 Build 20150408.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

When I click on my older 3MP DS-2CD2032-I camera, I do see a box "Security Code". But when I click on the 4MP camera, that box is not there, instead there is a New Password, Confirm Password boxes. But entering the generated code, I still get 'Failed to Modify settings".
