I'm still on the LTS FW version 171219. Hoping there will more FW releases in 2018 for this video doorbell.

Installed LaView doorbell today and tested it. Firmware is V1.4.62 build 180419. Maybe latest?

I have electric melody chime, So ordered AC24V relay. I will separate, doorbell power and chime power.

If I use this relay, I can avoid all headaches, I assume. Maybe I need to add resistor here.

For doorbell power, I ordered

Hi guys, I am about to buy this wi-fi doorbell. Does it function well enough as intended that you would buy this again?

Doesn't work well for me. Worked well in the beginning, now keeps disconnection. I haven't changed anything in my setup. Wouldn't buy it again. Will try selling locally.

The doorbell works OK, it records to my DS-7616NI-I2 NVR with no issues. I use the Hik-Connect app which works better on my iPhone. The app on my Samsung android is not the best.

Hello,
I have the 6003 doorbell setup and integrated with my nvr. everything is great except the IR light renders the camera useless over night. Aside from installing a motion sensor light (which I may also do) can you assist me with method to disable IR sensor please?

The IR Reflection is the problem with this doorbell. I use a WEMO switch with a rule to control the light.

Try cleaning the dome lens with eye glass cleaner, at least the outside. it helps. It help even more if you clean the inside, but that require disassembling the entire unit which is a semi-major undertaking

I've read through this and the LTS thread but am still left wondering if the DB-120A-IW is worth the entry fee. It can be had for around £80/$107 here in the UK which might be cheap enough to compensate for the complaints?

The doorbell works, it has some issues. If you have an outside light and a mechanical chime, this doorbell is great.

I purchased this doorbell and its seem to be working ok, the hikconnect app isn't that great though. The image is all squashed on my phone and tablet and it doesnt seem to work in landscape mode (I have wall mounted tablets in landscape orientation)

The app also works on multiple devices but I find if the "call" is answered on one device it just keep ringing on the second device.

My home is setup using home assistant software (controlling lights, speakers, etc etc) and I really want to tie this doorbell into it, that way I can trigger my google home minis to chime in each room and bring up the live feed on the wall mounted tablets.

I'm not using a chime but thought I could possibly wire in a Zwave light switch in place of the mechanical chime, when the doorbell is pushed it sends a signal to the zwave switch and triggers it to thinking the "light switch" has been turned on. I can then attach all my automation's to it.

Does anyone know if this will work ? I'm no electrician maybe might need a relay in there somewhere....

Hi bit of help needs regarding wiring the chime to the doorbell.
Should the two terminals on the Hik doorbell be sitting normal open then going closed circuit when I physically press the button? Mine doesn’t.
I have two types of Byron doorbells I’m messing around with and cannot get the doorbell to chime makes a chime noise when I 1st attach the doorbell cables to the chime, but nothing onwards from that.

Hi Leroy,

I tried to do a similar thing and connect it to a Honeywell doorbell device, Cant remember what the exact name or it is but it takes a standard wired door bell and lets you connect wireless doorbells to it which i already had installed in my house, It had similar connections as your device. I couldn't for the life in me get it to work, No matter which way round i tried the wires, nothing. I even went down the route of trying relays and voltage monitors to send a signal when it detected the voltage change on the negative side but again got 0 results. The doorbells would chime on boot but not when the button was pressed.

HI Ciuvak,

I have the exact same issue. Door bell works great but randomly discounts from the HIKVision server and makes the app useless until reboot. I know for a fact that the WiFi is not dropping as i have a network DVR recording the feed and this works great. As a work around i have had to connect to doorbell to a smart put and i have scheduled it to reboot the power every day.

Doesn't work well for me. Worked well in the beginning, now keeps disconnection. I haven't changed anything in my setup. Wouldn't buy it again. Will try selling locally.

My doorbell is now freezing every few days - video doesn't work, doorbell chime doesn't work, reset button doesn't work, blue light is on and doorbell is warm. I have to unscrew it to finally get it to reboot. Not sure what to do here - any suggestions? It came with the house so unfortunately I have no warranty information to send it back.

The Doorbell works great but recently my HIKVision NVR DS-7616NI-I2 would loose connection to the doorbell until a reboot of the doorbell. I will buy the new model NA-KB6013-WIP when it is available, hoping the new model will not have issue.
