How to make IVS work if pointed to the ground?

Did you try 25, 20, 15, etc, and the only one that worked was 5 or did you just move straight to 5 fps?

I initially had it set at 15 fps which is what I set all my cams to. Dropped it to 5 and it worked so I left it. The purpose of this cam is to get face captures of people entering and leaving the front entrance so 5 fps is fine for this.

If it ain't broke.... lol

This camera is garbage. I tested all the way down to 5 fps. Problem is it triggers inconsistently but it does that even at higher FPS so FPS doesn't seem to matter. I can't narrow down to what makes it trigger.

I'll try @Perimeter's suggestion next.

As others have said, your angle is less than ideal for what you're trying to do. The camera's AI detection would have a hard time recognizing a person from the current position of the camera.

The face detection on mine has been flawless but it's mounted maybe 6 feet above street level.

but it is triggering. The problem is that it is not consistent. @wittaj is triggering on feet. Mine can see legs and feet with an arm thrown in on occasion.

What camera is in use here?

My point is to check for just human detection via SMD on sensitive, with motion detecction on, but sensitivity to 0.
If it doesn't detect humans then, it likely won't within IVS either. Then I would turn the human filter off in the IVS rules and see if IVS gets more responsive without human filter.

That is what the other camera in the Boobie cam does. Plus I have about 3 other cameras that overlap that I should get facial ID. I need to know when there is someone at my door that shouldnt be. This is my last point where an alert can be generated before they are kicking in my door.
I don’t have this camera so maybe this suggestion won’t work, but have you tested with the other camera then? If the second cam (in the boobie cam) is pointed at face level, then why not use that for IVS?

Also, your CBR is ridiculously low. I run CBR at 8192Kbps on my 4MP cams.

I also unchecked Target Filter with no discernible results.

Device Type: IPC-HDBW5441F-AS-E2-3.6mm
System Version: V2.840.0000000.18.R, Build Date: 2022-06-29

This supposed to be the newest firmware andy sent me.

Last bit of testing results.

This is what the cam sees:

Sensitivity 10, turned off Target filter, waited minutes between testing each trigger to make sure it had enough time to reset.

Couldnt get this to fire.

Fired once, wouldnt fire again.

None of those looks like the person actually crossed the rule. IVS has a 3D like element to it. That first pic the legs aren't crossing the line they are "under" it so to speak.

Also as mentioned your bitrate is ridiculously low

And turn off H.265 and see what happens. Its largely useless but seems to adversely affect other things.

Here's proof of what I'm saying about IVS, especially Intrusion boxes, having a "3D" effect.

Pic 1- most of the woman and part of the man, like your 1st pic, are "under" the Intrusion line but have not "crossed" it

Pic 2- man's head finally trips the rule

That first pic is before I enter the trigger.
bumped up the bitrate to 4K, should I bump this up more? 8192 Kb/s?

This what doesnt make sense. The cameras aren't consistent. WITTAJ is over here getting it to trigger on toes and I have half my body in it. I get what you are saying about angles and perspective but I can get it to trigger. If the camera's perspective or angle was off, it would never trigger so it can do what it is supposed to do but not consistently.

Mine will fire but then wont trigger again. It is almost like once the trigger is activated, there is something wrong in the firmware that doesn't reset it so it will activate again.

In my testing, when I make changes in IVS, it will fire the first time. It wont fire after that. It is almost like I have to go back and make changes in IVS for it to reset and fire again. At least that is what I am experiencing from the testing.
Looks like it might be a firmware problem and Andy says that is the latest firmware for this camera.

Have you tried using the second camera to trigger IVS? If that is a more face on shot, then I’d expect that to work better than the ankle show you have it filming now.
