I’m interested in that comparison with the 4K. For quality and night time as well

So set up the two cameras,

I think firmware is needed. I’d love for it to be automatically be able to focus on other thing beyond 10m.

White balance is a bit to high (hard to read number plates).

The night mode is aggressive so I’ll have to customise those options.
Being the IR lights

There is a little to much light which doesn’t allow you see items in the distance.

Camera has heaps of potential playing with the settings. Very happy with them!

Just new camera, will take some fine tuning :)

What is the firmware build date? 2020-4?

After adjusting the setting pretty heavily, turning the Ir right down.

One camera has good colour image at night.

The other gets washed out at the white fence and is hard to see past the fence line. I may consider leaving both in colour

Don't flame me here for asking a question that may be obvious to some of you:
For those that know of this camera, how would it compare to the IPC-T2231T-ZS 2MP Starlight, for real quality and night time?

Based on my own comparison of the 5231E-ZE with the fixed focus 5442, I'd expect the 5442 to be significantly better.
Thank you. I may look at the 5445 fixed focus as well. I just have to learn my requirements, and do some calcs with my current varifocal

The veri focus really needs a ptz to be effective.

But I like being able to have the door on one side of the screen and the the road on the other (focus is in the middle) which I can zoom in on.

As opposed to one or the other with fixed.

I’m happy with it all in all. Would strongly recommend it.

A varifocal is not really meant to be used like that. The idea is that you set the focal length just after you install it and then leave it.

That’s basically how it is, but it gives me a few more options.

I’m much more glad I went the veri instead of a 2.8 for example
