Same as any other dahua with the same sensor just weaker IR
Hey can you throw up a video of the motion light on outside? Does the light kick the camera into color? Curious to see. Thanks

I dont have it mounted outside yet. It will be mounted at a friends place. Right now its in my office. There are MUCH better dahua 4k cameras if you want a good image like the 2831. The point of this camera is the deterrence capability.

Thanks,

I was hoping to keep the hardware cost down and be able to use the minix PC.
But it seem that won’t do it.

It seem that something good enough with a 2TB would be close to $430 plus the POE switch 8ch that another $115 plus the BI software.
Easy $550+ and no cameras

Now the Costco version with 4 cams don’t seem so bad at $600

Is there a good PC with the HDD for under $300

You did not read the wiki or the forum.
Buy the Costco unit. Then return it when you realize it's crap.
There is a reason we use software based VMS.

Search i5-6500 ebay
I got one with 1tb HDD 8gb ram win 10 pro $200
8 Poe switch $65 Amazon
BI $50
So about $300 for a solid setup.. not bad at all

I have the lorex version. Not too happy with it. Alarm is a joke, can't get the speaker to work, Very wide angle. i like the Dahura camera I bought from Andy much better.

You are misunderstanding he purpose of this camera. Which EXACT lorex version, there IS a difference. The alarm is not a joke, its loud enough to scare of a door checker. This is a PERFECT driveway/front door camera to scare off unwanted guests. This is NOT a camera to id a guy at your mailbox.
The speaker works GREAT! If you mean you have trouble getting it to work in blue iris, that is NOT the cameras fault. It works perfectly well with the dahua app and TINY cam.

Yes I went over it, that where I found the link for the 8ch POE and PC.

Wow, I gotta keep looking. I think I selected the i7 link and that why the higher prices I quoted.
For some reason the POE switch link did not work for me.

So the i5-6xxx is future proof for now right?
Is that considered skylake for the H265 support.

Does Blue Iris give you the option to trigger the alarm once it detect movement,
So you can see who it is.

Or does the alarm goes off automatically?

The alarm goes off automatically, you are not going to wake up at 3am and trigger the alarm.
once audio talk is working you can talk or cause a wav audio file to be played via blue iris.
Honesly, buy the costco unit. Its returnable for life. This way you can appreciate blue iris. I recommend everyone use a crappy NVR so they fully understand the power of blue iris once the get it.

Well I mean more for evening late afternoon.

Let say is 940PM and someone walk past the camera it would be nice not to automatically trigger the alarm before looking as it might be a family member.

But anything past 1130pm have it automatically trigger the alarm.

I think the lorex give you the option to trigger the alarm after someone trigger the motion sensor.
That could be a nice addition to Blue Iris down the road.
Would something like that be posible with BI later on?

I would look for a i5-6500 PC and avoid the Costco is posible.

If you use the NVR you will need to set the alarm schedule for say 1am-5am. That is assuming the NVR allows you to make those settings.
The dahua cameras allows an alarm schedule.
With blue iris, you can must more easily set the alarm schedule and change it on the fly which you cannot do with the NVR. You can use custom wav files, enable disable alarms etc. the schedule in blue iris is very powerful and controllable from the mobile app.
