Welp, on my three T5442TM-AS cams I guess it's time to take the plunge. I'm a bit behind the curve you might say...LOL!

@Sybertiger - Are they working and meet your needs? If so, why update?

Mine are older than that. Work perfectly for my situation, so I am not tempting it break something else that is working!

I was thinking I would benefit from Smart IR. I have to operate in night mode and IR seems to washout faces so thinking Smart IR fix could help.

LOL, serves me right for upgrading although I don't have an explanation for this issue I'm experiencing or I have a mental block late at night. I can see the camera is triggering (see below) but Blue Iris is not seeing the "EXTERNAL" trigger event from the upgraded 5442. Nothing in the BI log file to show the alert was received. Clearly, the IVS trigger was set up correctly as we can see the cam trigger. I take it I'd have to use another tool to see what the cam is sending out (if anything) to BI. I flashed the upgrade firmware without a factory reset. Then tried factory reset > upgrade firmware. I've even removed the cam from BI then added it back in. Suggestions?

p.s. the auto-IR works awesome now.

The ONVIF Device Manager is showing this cam is reporting events just as another 5442 I have (with old firmware). Almost seems like the ONVIF data stream is not recognized by BI but that can't be the case since many of you have this version firmware and BI sees your events just fine.

Welp, I guess I have a solution. I cloned one of my other 5442 cams in BI then changed the IP address to match the 5442 that was upgraded. Now it works.

Weird!

I highly suspect there is something on the BlueIris side where you didn't enable the alerts to be processed by BI.

It's clearly something in BI (s/w bug?). I have two BI servers (v5.3.6.6 and v5.5.7.8) receiving feeds from the same 8 cams for quite a while. For the 5442 cam that was upgraded, the alerts stopped on both BI servers without having modified anything in the BI settings including how alerts are enabled. I tried a lot of things including simply doing Find/Inspect on the original setup that used to work but no dice. Copying another 5442 (old firmware) configuration in BI then changing the IP address to the 5442 with new firmware THEN doing Find/Inspect was the only thing that got it working again. Get ONVIF trigger events was always checked. The only thing I noted different is ONVIF source changes to 0000 after Find/Inspect whereas on the old firmware ONVIF source would show 000 (3 instead of 4 zeros). Anyhow, I've got it working and I don't have time to pinpoint/diagnose it anymore.
