Do a lot of you keep a monitor hooked up to that after installation or do just hook up thru the network on another computer.
you can disable window updates once its stable and no port forwarding to the box no reason to updateor win 8.1 because having an OS on your NVR machine that likes to update on it's own could kind of suck.

runs just fine on 10...I have 20+ boxes with 10 pro..perhaps, my previous install ran rock solid on 8.1 enterprise so when I set up my new box I just kept it the same since I knew the combo was perfect, it may very well run just fine on 10 though.

That ptz is ok for outside? all the pictures i see seem not to have a lens over it almost looks exposed.im planing on buying one of those very cameras; but they do have a cheaper model for $350 if that interests you...
if your buying dahua cameras and want a hardware NVR, then buy a Dahua NVR.. 5216-4KS2.. or consider BlueIris on a dedicated Win10 PC
