Mini outdoor PTZ : DS-2DE4A220IW-DE

My gray came stock with 5.5.0 luckily and 0 problems aside from that RTSP Auth being set to digest by default and the illegal login lock. Didn't have to use spacers in the mount but man I wish they mentioned the metric needed for those packaged expansion screws. It's just under a half inch but mistakenly (and stupidly) thought it was 5.5mm until I realized I was reading from the template for the camera haha but after getting stuck too many times I went and bought some 1/2" x 3" ones that are better designed for cinder block, I think the ones the mount come with are made for solid concrete. I had to use a grinder to cut the sleeves down to match and try my hardest to drill straight holes which is a bit challenging 20' high with a heavy rotary!

I too get some minimal lens flare from the sun etc but it's very acceptable imo. I didn't spring for the 3mp because apparently it's not worth the extra $ but if there was a 4mp I would have gotten it in a heartbeat. While the resolution isn't as clear as my other 4mp's the low light performance is so good I haven't had to use the IR once which is funny because the hidden IR was the main selling point for me as it should be very powerful.

Other than that I did have trouble getting the wires to fit inside the super tight space and worry I may be bending them too much. If it was an external wiring instead of straight through I would have used a junction box but whoever designed the mount could have done better. Make sure you pull any slack before tightening the bolts or it will catch on the wall if done later.

My only issue now is getting PTZ controls to work in BI. I've tried ONVIF and both Hikvision options but so far I can only control it directly in the camera, getting a PTZ: 12029: /onvif/PTZ log error

You need to create an ONVIF user account now. You can do that here: 2017-12-19_1703

Hey thanks, I assume it's a private account for local use only? Should I make it the same as the camera's credentials? While I have ONVIF enabled you're right I didn't have or knew I needed to make an account for it to work.

Honestly, I would make it different but a lot of people seem to forget their passwords so I'll leave it up to you.

Is that all of it? Anywhere i'm supposed to enter those credentials in BI after creating the account? I've saved it and still same error unfortunately.

What dropdown option are you using for BI? dahua rtsp or did you do a find inspect...find inspect would likely pull the onvif profile...

I've tried every combination as far as I know but I did forget to switch it from the Hikvision RTSP drop down for video back to ONVIF after adding that ONVIF account. For PTZ it was on ONVIF but i've cycled through the two Hikvision options as well to no avail. Right now everything is set to ONVIF but while the camera controls are available in BI it just won't do anything and continues to report the log error.

After creating the account directly in the camera how does that help BI if it doesn't have the credentials I created?

i would try using the entering the onvif credentials in BI

I was confused at first as I thought there was no other place than video where you can do that while assuming that the same credentials to login to the camera directly must be the only thing entered there but I tried it anyway and it spazzed out loading all the presets. Works now thank you @fenderman ! My first PTZ hooray! :highfive:

Indeed, figured hik simply forgot to add it to the list or there isn't much in the way of changes for the A220IW - since there are a bunch of other's built on the same chassis figured it was worth a pop.

I see the latest firmware has upgraded the ISAPI to 2.4.

Has anyone seen any documentation for ISAPI 2.4 in their travels??

Want my home automation system to change the image profile (night, day, nightfall) etc as the current time based settings via the website are too crude !!! I think the image profiles will make more sense if they were changed at sunrise/sunset/twilight/etc which my home automation controller is aware of.

@MadamImAdam, probably as good as your gong to get:DS-2DE4A204IW-DE Link ->Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Technology Co. Ltd. Looks to be the same camera with a 2.8-12mm lens assembly - I think 2.8-94mm is a bit of an ask at this price point. Can't guarentee it is exaclty the same for features like auto-tracking.

Is anyone using this camera? I would love to hear your opinion on it. I love the 20X zoom version, but just need a wider angled camera for strategic purposes.

ALSO: does this camera have auto-tracking features?
