I am looking for cameras for my elderly mom's house. I have mostly older Hikvisions, but want to get her newer starlight dahua cameras. I would prefer turrets over dome or bullet for all of the cameras. One of the cameras will be mounted on a wall with weather exposure, so need to make sure I have a good sealed option on that one. I can use a 2.8 lens on them as I need to have about 90 degrees coverage on them.

I need to stay under $150 each.

I am looking at the following

IPC-T2231T-ZS
IPC-T5241H-AS-PV
IPC-T2431TM-AS-S2
IPC-T5241TM-AS

or should I consider one of the 5442 models?

Thanks

Thanks for the info. I am leaning towards the IPC-T2231T-ZS. The bang for the buck looks good. I may use some outdoor lighting to help with low light issues. The varifocal will help target areas better as well. Although the IPC-T5442TM-AS and IPC-T5442TM-AS-LED are tempting.

Hi Guys.. Same situation..

Need low light outdoors and indoor cameras..

I've been looking at the following

IPC-T2347G-LU
IPC-HDBW4432F-IS
IPC-T5442TM-AS
IPC-K35A

But also saw the review on model IPC-T5442TM-AS-LED for full colour?

Any recommendations?

What's the difference between IPC-T2347G-LU and IPC-T5442TM-AS/-LED

Hi there, i orderd a few days back the IPC T5442-AS for my low light point near my boat. Can't tell you how it works, but the reviews are very good.

After some thinking. My mom is 83 and is not technical so I will need to monitor and manage this from remote. I am thinking the AI built into the cameras may make more sense. I can have the cameras notify me (and her after tweaking) on movement. I will have BlueIris record all clips at her house. Does that make sense? So I would need to step up to one of the AI cameras.

Any thoughts about using the AI for in camera alerts via email/text and BI to record? I get too many false positives with BI.

Which Dahua cameras have car/human detection capabilities? Don't need super high-end LPR cameras though.

If you are interested in a fixed lens since it has better sensitivity and are cheaper, look at my signature and tell me what you think.

I ordered 2 of the iPC-T5442TM-AS 2.8mm to start. I have a DS-2CD3332-I and 3 older HIK 720p bullets I can use to provide some IR and additional coverage while I figure out what to use and where. I pulled 6 CAT6 cables yesterday to the front and side of her house.

I am considering this to cover the back of the house near a basement door. What do you guys think about the IPC-HDBW4231F-E2-M? I have used minidomes on my house by my front and rear doors. They are less obvious and do a good job, even though mine are older HIK.

I picked up a couple of iPC-T5442TM-AS to start. The first one was installed last night. I might have to replace my Hikvisions at my house now. Below are some pics I grabbed last night with default settings.

IR turned off, it is so dark you can't see where to walk at night in that area.

Also, the human detection works like a charm. Wish there was a way to trigger BI to record on humans in the area and not just any movement. I did create zones in BI for this area and it works well with a few tweaks.

I also picked up a 2MP varifocal, might have been a better idea to get a 6mm version of this camera for that area. It is really that good.

You can set BI to trigger on ONVIF trigger from the 5442. I have that set for IVS and it works fine.
Ooooh, will have to look into that. thanks

Any suggestions for making it work correctly? Will it only record ONVIF events or all normal event triggers including BI?
