Hi Bob, i saw where you figured out the tracking issue on your Jennov PTZ and Hikvision NVR a little while back...... i have the same setup and it's got me pulling my hair out. I'm not tech savvy and this thing is getting the better of me. Would you mind explaining how to get to the camera's WEBGUI? i've googled it but i get 100000000 results that have nothing to do with my question.

Thank you,
Shannon
Hi Andy, back in 2018 I bought a IPC-HDW4830EM-AS 8MP from you through your AliExpress store. For multiple reasons I never actually got it up and running, but today I unboxed it and am trying to set it up. When I login to it, I get the message to download the plugin which I do and install successfully but the message stays there and does not refresh to the streaming image. (I can connect to settings - I got the date & time proper etc.)

I've tried on Firefox, Chrome, and Safari all with the same results.

I connected to it using an app / ONVIF and it indeed is streaming but I cannot control anything.
Do you have any ideas for how to connect directly to the camera via a browser for streaming and zone setups etc?

Thanks in advance!

It is best to send a message as a DM and not a profile post that may or may not be seen, or may be seen by lots!

But to answer your question, you need to use Internet Explorer - that plugin only works in Internet Explorer.

Explorer is still native to Win10 and Win11.

Windows did not remove Explorer.

How to enable native Internet Explorer in Windows 10 and 11:
  1. Open Notepad:
  2. Copy then paste the single line of code below into Notepad:
  3. CreateObject("InternetExplorer.Application").Visible=true
  4. Save as OpenIE.vbs
  5. Make sure the the file name ends in .vbs not .txt, If it ends in .txt you must rename to .vbs
  6. Create a shortcut to the above file and double-click it anytime you want native Internet Explorer
  7. Download any of the plug-in the NVR or camera asks for.

Yes, those old cams have to use the IE. Here has a guide how to set up IE.
