Onvif Compatible Doorbell Cam

So do those cameras work with any wireless chimes?
 
Not sure, i am still waiting for mine to arrive.
But the unit that i got is defective, check link in post 80.
They will send me a replacement one, but i am not going to install it! I may just go with Ring and give up the poe/onvif for the 1080p that Ring has.
The seller at Ali said that they are working on a version with poe/onvif and to be 1080p and 2,3 mega pixel and up. Also they will perfect the app for ios and android But who knows when will be on the market
or if still be any good.
 
I think I'm going to get the doorbird. It seems to be the only one which has poe, onvif, works with blue iris, has a wireless chime, and seems reliable. Will post my findings when I get it and install it.

Ordered one during their 11/11 sale yesterday.
Will let you guys know how well it works when it arrives.

Info on the domoticz forum indeed suggests it supports ONVIF: IP Video Door Bell - Atz-dbv01p - Domoticz
There is also a link to the source code of the apps and technical API documentation there, with the catch that the latter is in Chinese.
 
Well I got the doorbird and got it installed. Is POE and built well. Not using ONVIF but it does it. It works perfectly with my electric door chime and with my security tablets and phones. Quirky IR with it only coming on when the doorbell is pushed but other than that it works fine. Hoping future firmware updates fix that along with a couple other minor issues. Also have the doorbird in Blue Iris as a security camera. Only issue I did not like was that there is no way to pick a static ip and it has to be connected to the internet. So far not a big deal.

Is it not possible to use the Doorbird without an internet connection? I keep all of my cameras on an isolated VLAN which can only communicate with my BlueIris server. I don't trust them enough for internet access

Yeah I do the same with my cameras and actually had to do a separate Van for the doorbird. I'm goin to email them asking about that and a couple other things and will post their reply.
 
I actually have a Doorbird that I have been playing with. Setup with blue iris was quick and no problems as long as your use the Axis info. I used POE and tried the wifi option and both worked.

This thing is large, probably the largest of the video doorbells out right now.

I am not a huge fan of all the small pigtails that you must connect on the backside of the board. The POE pigtail looks out of place and not very sturdy, I make sure it is secured at all times while testing.

Doorbird does not have a wireless chime option yet if you still want the buzzer/chime/ring ect inside your house when the button is pushed. (They claim a Q1 2017 release for the chime option)
There is a wired chime version available via a pigtail on back.

All of my testing has been done at my desk since I have been busy with work and haven't had much time to tinker beyond that.

Will post more updates once I get around to further research on it.

It does work with a wired chime but not many people will probably go that route. That's how I have mine setup.

You are correct, there is the chime pigtail on the back... forgot to mention that.
 
I will stay away when it comes to video door bells from china , purchased one all most the same as that and had huge problems with the ir cut/night vision! Also 720p are junk.
I went with Ring for now , got with from from bestbuy with huge discount as i have someone in the family that works there, and all good for now. Maybe later if other brand will come out that will support Poe/Ip port/stream to add in BI i may buy it, but yes for DoorBird was kind of little to much for me too.
 
or i dunno; you could get off your ass and talk to another human being every once and a while heh.. two way door bells and home intercoms have been proven useless over and over for the last few decades; just because its now on an App dont change much.

I love automation/security but you can get so much better quality with a fixed camera that has audio; and a NVR that has push notifications.

Hello there, first post.

I bought a Doorbird for my Q-See system and have given up trying to make it work. Q-See doesn't seem to be comptible with all ONVIF. Has anybody sucessfully gotten Doorbird to work with Q-See?

I am also considering changing my Q-See NVR for a Hikvision. Is anybody aware if Doorbird works with Hikvision NVRs?
 
@TaxExempt The Doorbird is ONVIF, Hikvision NVRs are ONVIF so in theory the NVR should record the Doorbird's video without issues. However, with ONVIF protocol it's hard to say what will work and what won't without testing it (motion detection, alarm alerts, etc)
