Not exactly an ip camera, but I'm getting desperate here so I thought I'd give the forum a try.

This seems to be a very recent product line from HikVision suffering from poor documentation and little information over the web of other people's experiences...anyway I love my HikVision dome cameras so I thought I'd take the plunge and buy this anyway.

I've got the following setup:

- DS-KH6310 indoor station, ip: 172.16.2.99 (firmware 1.4.0 160831)
- DS-KV8102-IM door station, ip: 172.16.2.100 (firmware 1.4.0 160831)

I've configured both devices, which are able to communicate with eachother (door station can call indoor station, indoor station reports that the communication is OK with a green "door station" icon on the main touchscreen UI page).

Now I'm having issues with connecting any of these devices with the Hik-Connect iOS app on my iPhone. I'm following the instructions found on the following document:

User manual DS-KH6310 / Pages 109

http://oversea-download.hikvision.com//uploadfile/Products/Video Intercom/Indoor Station/UD02905B_Baseline_ Video Intercom Indoor Station User Manual_V1.4.0_20160827.pdf

I tried adding each device via its serial number but the Hik Connect app times out at the "register on the server" step...

I ran a network packet capture and found that the Indoor station is able to reach google DNS to query for "dev.ys7.com" and a few other FQDNs, then connects on TCP port 8555 to some of these remote hosts...it seems as though the intercom indoor station is able to reach its mother ship OK ;)

I tried adding both devices on EZVIZ (took me a while to figure out that the site uses a plugin which needs internet explorer to work) but I get "device not supported" when I try to add the indoor station and "device is offline" when I try to add the outdoor door station...I don't know what else to do, can any kind soul provide support?

Hikvision develops their products for their local market (China), and later on some products make it to the global market, while others never do. Those products often have no english manuals, no english firmwares, and no support if you don't know chinese. The fact that there is already an english manual available is a good thing, while the fact that that line of products is not on Hikvision's web site and is not sold on any of the global markets is a bad thing.

YS7 is the chinese version of EZVIZ, unless you know chinese you will have a hard time geting it to work with P2P (I think you need a chinese mobile number to activate P2P products that work with YS7). You might get it working directly by IP.

Thanks for the info :) not really reassuring but it is what it is....

these hikvision dudes...they've got loads of fluffy marketing PDFs advertising that this product line works with their mobile app ecosystem...even this 1.4.0 firmware was given to me by my hikvision dealer as "adding support for the hik-connect app" (he was clueless on how to set it up...he's escalating this to hikvision support...but their european branch seems hopeless)

They even went into the trouble of adding a specific section on a user guide on how to setup their Hik connect app with this intercom system...and it wasn't exactly cheap either, with loads of cheaper alternatives (and better documented too)...This is just me self-inflicting pain and misery...

Did you actually buy this in Europe through a legit Hik dealer? If so, I would ask for support, and if you are unable to get it up and running, I would just send it back for a refund.

I have never seen any of this product lines advertised here (Spain), but it might be another story in other countries.

I bought these from www.megateh.eu, seemed legit enough :) . They've been really kind and quick to support me but they seem a bit lost at this point...I'm waiting for a reply for a few days now and they seem to be waiting for someone at Hikvision support to reply to them...when I tried contacting Hikvision European support mailbox I got the following reply:

"your device is purchased from distributor which is BK Grupé in Lithuania.

That why is not supported by our European technical support.

Kindly contact the dealer from which you bought the product regarding your question."

Damn...my hope is that the fact that this product line is being pushed into the North American market will make hikvision better support it outside of china. Also if you look at the hik-connect app version history there is at least one mention about support being addded to their intercom family of products

here's the fluffy marketing PDF I was referring to a few messages back:

http://oversea-download.hikvision.com/uploadfile//Leaflet/Product Leaflet/Video Intercom System.pdf

"Mobile Apps Mobile apps facilitate LAN and WAN control while allowing users remote monitoring and the ability to answer phones and unlock doorsas well."

it does seem as though they're planning to make this happen, but haven't really committed (marketing wise) on the mobile app name (Hik-Connect or IVMS 4500/5200/whatever)

The problem is the dev.ys7.com server you need use european server for european p2p

Actually it is better to use port forwarding instead of cloud

I get that, but the hik-connect app only seems to support "the cloud"....the ivms 4500 mobile app doesn't support either the indoor or the outdoor intercom unit (I've got an openvpn gateway at home and use it to access my hikvision dome cameras all the time, I don't even have a default gateway set on those cameras...so no weirdos in china will ever look at those). I'd love to get rid of the cloud altogether for this intercom system, please do add valuable info on how to achieve that if you can :)

So things have evolved somewhat since yesterday. I configured a router in my network, which is running dd-wrt to rewrite the DNS record of dev.ys7.com to the ip of dev.ezviz7.com and since I've done that, the indoor unit "reset its configurations" and made me re-activate it again (looked promissing).

So now whenever I reboot the indoor unit, I see that it queries dev.ezvizlife.com during boot (as if it's not looking for the chinese dev.ys7.com endpoint anymore, it must have downloaded some juicy config from the ezviz dev server earlier).

However. the remaining symptoms are somewhat similar...I still get "Device not supported" on hik-connect and the EZVIZ website just states "device can't be added"

IVMS 4500 on iOS doesn't work for me either: I get "Error Code: 413" when trying to launch Live View on the Indoor Station, and "Error Code: 427" when trying to launch live view on the Door Station (Using the wifi network to where both these devices are directly connected, albeit in a wired fashion)

Here's the RTSP packet Capture snippet between my iphone running IVMS 4500 and the door station camera...it does seem like the IVMS 4500 app is sending an RSTP SETUP command in a format that the door station doesn't support:

Hello there,
I've been having the same problems with the Video Intercom System and the Hik-connect app. It seems to me that the app isn't ready yet to support this feature.
The video intercom system has been available in the Venezuelan market for about a year, and it was only a few weeks ago that I saw the products appear on the overseas website.
The documentation is somewhat limited and I've been able to configure the system mainly by trial and error.
I think its just a matter of time for Hikvision to get their act straight and start supporting the features stated on their fluffy marketing brochure.

Cheers @pilscoop, nice to hear that someone's on the same boat :) In case you're still having issues with the new ringtone feature available on the 1.4.0 firmware, after many hours of trial and error I "sorted it out" and wrote a tutorial around it here. If I eventually get to the bottom of how to connect the intercom to any of their mobile apps I'll let you know too (please do the same if you get there first).

Wow thanks a lot, I'll give it a read.
Sure thing. As soon as I can get the app working I'll let you know.

Update, here's a proper/working RTSP session launched from the ivms 4200 application running on a windows host, launched towards my door station using "Live View" mode (definitely the RTSP protocol in use has a different format than the one used by the mobile IVMS 4500 - which isn't working - most noticeable is the RTSP authentication methodology difference: the mobile app uses "Basic", sending my credentials over clear text/base64 encoding where the PC version uses a somewhat more secure computed digest challenge)...This seems to suggest that the intercom system enforces a more secure authentication methodology or different RTSP handshake which the mobile app doesn't yet support! This alone is a big no-no for using the mobile app with supported ip video cameras over simple port forwarding scenarios without any sort of secure encapsulation, where a potential attacker could gather the camera credential details rather easily by sniffing the RTSP traffic:

As the main selling point (for me) of an IP intercom system is so that it offers the ability for me to answer the door when I'm not home using my smartphone, I'm considering returning this Hikvision intercom (clearly this being not just a case of poor documentation, rather than poor integration with Hikvision overseas mobile app ecosystem) and getting a Dahua intercom instead (damn you Hikvision and your lack of marketing honesty). There's solid evidence of Dahua having their intercom system neatly integrated with a mobile app as shown on this video:

I brought this topic with my hikvision dealer and he seemed receptive to this option since he's also a Dahua representative, I'll explore this next week.

Hopefully this post will help more people (in the western world at least, probably this is a finished product in the chinese market) to stay away from Hikvision's intercom family of products until they integrate this properly with their mobile app ecosystem.
