any idea why i get this when i try to setup ivs rules in smartpss? :update : i can setup ivs with internet explorer.
Hey, all-
I'm looking to add some more cameras to my city row home. Crime has spiked in our area and I want full coverage in front of my house as well as up and down the street. Currently I have a Foscam ProHD (IP2M-841) above the door, behind the transom (inside the house). Aside from dirt on the window, light reflecting from inside, and the camera isn't weather proof - I'm not happy with the downward angle. I can see when someone is at the door, but face/id recognition isn't possible unless they look up. Even the approach to the house usually doesn't catch facial detail. I need something lower, and the camera in this thread seems like it would be great for what I'm looking to do. My plan is to mount it under the porch light, which I will be replacing with something that doesn't hang down as much from the mount point (and maybe provides more shelter/coverage from the rain?). I do have concerns about it being a dome outside and having to deal with rain and exposure. And also possibly problems from the porch light causing glare if I mount it vertically. Though that could be mitigated if I use a PFB203W? Any thoughts of better camera(s) to use or install config? As an aside, we plan to have flower planters hanging off the second story windows soon and I'm going to put bullets under each one facing inward/opposite for higher ground footage.
Are you using an admin account in SmartPSS and not a user account?
Make sure you have the latest version 2.02.0 of SPSS, even with that, it's buggy.
I'm thinking about using this camera, at my patio. Almost as an entrance camera at the front door, but at the rear.
I would like to cover as wide area as possible.
The two cameras can be pointed inwards, to have a wide panoramic view? Or there will be a gap between the two camera views?
About the heat, anybody opened it, to see what is getting hot? Could it be "helped" to cool down a bit, maybe a heatsink, or a fan could be installed?
I don't like those temperatures, especially, when in LA is 116 degrees.
Heat kills electronics.
I'm cooling even my wi-fi routers.

What are your thoughts on running this for watching corners? I'm thinking about getting this for my front door, but I think they might be even more valuable in some corners of my property.
They will be mounted under a soffit.Indoors--good. Outdoor--domes aren't the best option if rained on or exposed to direct sunlight.
