They just tried to assassinate Trump

SOP, remove the weapon from the reach of the perp. It does not matter that they could 'see' he was dead. You do it every time no matter what. The minute you make it 'optional', is when the process breaks down and bad things happen.

Just like if someone hands me a gun, I will check it to see if it is loaded. Every time. No exceptions. Even if they tell me it is loaded. I check.

That is what I figured, but they didn't do anything else right, so was wondering if that was it or not.

Here is something I just do not understand. Below is a screen grab from a video from ABC news after the shooting. Now we have seen other video, especially the body cam footage, that shows officers on the roof along with the shooter, his AR, a backpack and some what appears to be medical pouches that may have been for treatment of the shooter (as stated to the SS guy in the body cam footage). The image below shows the shooter, gun, backpack, and maybe a medical pouch. Since the blood trail is visible and the AR is away from his body, this obviously was taken after it was over.

What is missing? There are absolutely no LEOs on the roof. No one making sure the integrity of the crime scene stays intact. Ok maybe they had folks on the ground to stop people from going up there. I do not see anyone in the video though. But what was there to stop birds or rodents from going up there, fucking with the body and blood? Plus they left an unsecured rifle on the roof!

I have been thinking about that, the placement of the rifle. It is more than an arm's length away from the shooter, so I do not think he placed it there. He could have tossed it there. But it looks to evenly placed between the ridges and centered on the lane to have been thrown.

Yeah. It just seemed odd to me, dare we say staged, along with your comment above about site integrity.

It would be interesting to see if any bodycam video exists showing the very beginning and them removing the gun.

I dont get why Dims are so focused on whether is was shrapnel or the actual bullet? Hysterical. What does it change? Nothing

I've been saying the same thing. It doesn't matter squat either way. He was shot at and wounded. The dems and their owned media are trying to convince that it's not such a serious thing if it was shrapnel. They're stupid and evil. I can't think of any other way to look at it.

I looked at a daily beast story repeated by liberal parrot yahoo news propaganda. It showed a claimed recent photo of DJT's ear without a bandage. Here are some of the "reader" comments, that I'm convinced are generated by bots and/or political activists.

I had a more severe injury cutting up potatoes for dinner last evening.

His ear is intact, as in no portion of his ear was removed by whatever it was that struck Trump.

There is no wound,....so far, the whole incident looks fishy and questionable at best.

The bandage was just a prop to get more votes.

It didn't even make real contact, if that.

So no damage to his ear; this is looking more and more staged.

It was all for show.

This should be an outrage! He got his uneducated people to fall for this hook, line, and sinker.

There just seems to be no evidence of a bullet graze to the ear.

As an EMT, I can tell you... NO medical professional would have wrapped his ear like that in the first place.

Only his cult believes he was shot.

I knew this was a HOAX!

Trump's team set this all up to gain votes!

No surprise here folks. The maxi pad on the old man and convicted criminal's ear was all a prop.

So it was a ketchup packet prank after all!

I'm betting the SS had fake blood and it was all planned.

I guess so they can say it was not an assassination attempt???

Sounds as stupid as what this guy/girl/it posted:

Maybe you should coach Alec Baldwin. Or, just kick him in the nutz.

...aquire a head shot target and get 3 shots off... accurately...
...

You are making several assumptions here. 1) the sights on the gun were accurate @ ~450'. 2) he shot at the head. If he aimed chest center he missed significantly and the ear was collateral damage. We don't know the wind velocity either. In short, he could have been WAY off when he pulled the trigger and just got lucky one round got close to the ear. Or in really short terminology... beginners luck. shrug

There's another variable I haven't seen mentioned here. It's been reported he user a Panther Arms AR from about 160 yards away. That ar is a budget ar and there's nothing wrong with a budget ar. But if you get 1.5 moa accuracy from a budget ar, you're doing good. That's about 1.5 inches at 100 years so 160 yards would be about 2.5 inches. In case there's someone who's not familiar with what that means, if you shoot multiple rounds at the exact same spot, you should expect them to all hit within a 2.5 inch diameter circle at 160 yards due to "built in inaccuracies" of the rifle that comes from the tolerance of the parts of that rifle.

Yup. Tons of variables not accounted for and logical fallacies to go along with them.

It's the swiss cheese security model. The holes just happened to line up and someone got through. He was not the first to have an attempt on his life. And I doubt he will be the last.

I'm wondering how the RAPID development of drone warfare in Ukraine will force changes in outdoor security for presidents. I was familiar w/ military r/c helis ~30 years ago, using gps to fly them autonomously. (the old .30/.60 gas models) It took me about 2 seconds to realize they could be used for nasty purposes. I'm surprised it's taken this long for it to go "mainstream".

As Leroy Jethro Gibbs (NCIS) would say,"There is no such thing as a coincidence." (Rule 39)

The very next rule is also applicable. Rule #40: If it seems like someone's out to get you, they are.

Anyone with a brain knows this was not a security breach but rather a planned attempt by the gov just like JFK.

It was truly divine intervention that saved him so he can get in there and save our country.
