US Elections (& Politics) :)

Thanks for that one, Thomas Sowell - really enjoyed the various interviews I have seen of him. Truly should be included in more University and College courses to give a good balance.

In an interview with Mark Levin recently Thomas Sowell said this...
“What I see is if the election goes to Biden then there is a good chance that the Democrats will then control all two branches of Congress and the White House, and considering the kinds of things that they are proposing, that can well mean the point of no return for this country.”

National Association of Police Organizations Ditches Joe Biden, Endorses Trump for President

The National Association of Police Organizations (NAPO) endorsed President Donald Trump for president on Wednesday, abandoning their previous support of former Vice President Joe Biden.

“Our endorsement recognizes your steadfast and very public support for our men and woman on the front lines, especially during this time of unfair and inaccurate opprobrium being directed at our members by so many,” the letter from NAPO President Michael McHale read.

NAPO has endorsed President Trump in his reelection campaign. Here is our endorsement letter which was issued following today's meeting. pic.twitter.com/mf6ZUTf10l

— NAPO (@NAPOpolice) July 15, 2020

NAPO previously endorsed the Obama-Biden presidential ticket in both 2008 and 2012 and did not endorse a candidate in 2016.

The organization represents more than 1,000 police associations and 241,000 sworn officers.

The letter cited the Justice Department under Trump for prosecuting individuals attacking police officers, signing the Law Enforcement Mental Health and Wellness Act, and support for the 9/11 first responders fund as more reasons for their support.

The Trump campaign welcomed the news in a statement:

“Joe Biden has done nothing to stop his party’s ‘defund the police’ movement and remains silent as police officers across the country are being attacked by violent rioters and protesters,” Trump 2020 Senior Advisor for Law Enforcement and Labor Unions Bob Paduchik said in a statement. “This endorsement for President Trump highlights that as the Law and Order President, he is defending the hardworking people who risk their own lives every day to keep our communities safe.”

The two then looked at the history of the Democrat Party that up to the 1960s “was the party of slavery, Jim Crow, segregation, the Ku Klux Klan, lynching, poll taxes, and literacy tests for voting."

The Marxist/Socialist have already taken too many of our 2nd Amendment rights away. All violations of which need to be repealed.

Stalin took away guns, Hitler took away guns, Mao took away the guns from the people to name just a few.
Little by little, stealthily, they are working towards complete unobjectionable control.

I wish Goya would make some T shirts. I'd buy a few and wear them. I guess I can buy some online, but it would be even better if they made them and all the money went to Goya.

:lmao:From the article:

“If you have to keep updating and changing the results of a 'fact check,' maybe you should be doing them,” author Derek Hunter responded.

I'm guessing it meant to say NOT doing them

Protesters asked to leave or risk arrest after Portland Police Association office is set ablaze

Authorities asked protesters near the Portland Police Association office to leave Saturday night or risk arrest.

"This event has been declared a riot. Move to the east now. If you do not move to the east you will be subject to arrest or use of force to include crowd control munitions. Leave the area now," the Portland Police Bureau tweeted. It said protesters broke into the Portland Police Association office and set it on fire. In a separate protest near the federal building downtown, protesters could be seen dismantling a heavy metal fence set up around the building earlier as a barricade. Just hours earlier, police said the Federal Protective Service will not work in the Portland Police Bureau's incident command center after masked, camouflaged federal officers without identification badges arrested people protesting racial inequality in the city.

The Federal Protective Service will not use its command center starting Saturday night, according to Portland police.

During protests on Friday night, Portland officers and other law enforcement officers, including those from federal agencies, worked together to respond to disperse crowds, Portland police said in a statement. The federal officers worked under their own supervision and direction, according to the statement.

Seven people were arrested after protesters took a fence and barricaded the federal justice center, blocked streets, refused to disperse and threw projectiles at officers, police said.

The US Attorney for the Oregon District has asked for an investigation into the incident involving the federal authorities.

The request is aimed specifically at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) personnel who have been captured on various videos arresting protesters and putting them in unmarked SUVs.

Fires set, fences moved: Police call Portland protest a riot

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Protesters broke into a building, set it on fire and started dumpster fires late Saturday night in Oregon's largest city, police said, as demonstrations that have been taking place since the death of George Floyd intensified for another night in Portland.

The fire at the Portland Police Association building was put out a short time later, Portland police said on Twitter. The department declared the gathering a riot, and began working to clear the downtown area.

Tear gas was deployed, according to pictures and video from the scene. Fencing that had been placed around federal courthouse had also been removed by protesters and made into barricades, police tweeted.

The overnight action by Portland's police was condemned Jo Ann Hardesty, a prominent member of the City Council. Hardesty said Saturday that local police “joined in the aggressive clampdown of peaceful protest.”

Hardesty also slammed Wheeler, telling the mayor he needed to better control local law enforcement. Hardesty, who oversees the city's fire department and other first-responder agencies, said in an open letter to Wheeler if "you can’t control the police, give me the Portland Police Bureau.”

In a statement Saturday, Portland Police said as they responded to the overnight protests - which included people throwing projectiles at them - some federal agencies took action “under their own supervision and direction.” Portland Police said city officers arrested seven people, and one officer sustained a minor injury.

LOL...police arrest lady posting flyers regarding shooting of a one year old but police haven't arrested anyone in the shooting. Police arrest a lady "vandalizing" a BLM "mural" but don't arrest people damaging businesses and other property.
