@Frankosor So you have confirmed that the camera can create a streams at the highest resolution
2560x1440 at 25fps. Very good. That means that the camera CPU is capable to process all the 25fps. The next thing you can notice is if there are any trails or ghosting of objects moving across (not towards or away) the camera. Check at which shutter speed (less than 1/30 secs or higher) such trails may occur.

ghosting trails occur even in daylight when noise reduction above 50

The noise reduction creates the ghosting due to bad programming in the firmware.
The higher the noise reduction setting, the longer the trail. I have even posted demonstration picures on this issue.
Can you also post demonstration pictures?

Thanks @Frankosor, I really need to pull my finger out.

Agree with aster1x, keep the Noise Reduction to a minimum (it's not free). I have it completely off on the new WD cameras.

Same advice for your HDTV... turn Noise Reduction off.

DS-2CD2345-I are there better alternatives to this model to work with a rebranded NVR? Thanks in advance.

Does anyone know the answer to this question? Thanks.
I don't know if anyone knows at this point. In some places it looks the same spec as DS-2CD2342-i but cheaper. I contacted one of the resellers to get a screenshot of the label to verify.

Apart from the 2CD3345 DSP supporting H.265 and the 2CD2342 supporting H.264 and the specifications of the 2CD2342 claiming 120dB true wide dynamic range rather than a digitally-processed WDR of the 2CD3345, and the difference in claimed low-light sensitivity, a confirmation of the sensors used could differentiate them.
A look at the serial console during startup shows that the 2CD3345 has the Omnivision OV4689 sensor, here: http://www.ovt.com/products/sensor.php?id=136
If anyone has a copy of the serial console during startup of the 2CD2342 we could confirm what sensor is used there as it's not something Hikvision has been known to document.

Tell me what to do and I'll hook up my laptop to mine.

So, Daylight pics, night coming soon

First able, here is a pic of the cam itself and would like to share with you what hikvision have change
the way of install the camera

Here is the back of the cam, the DS-2CD3345-I is on left side, on right side i put a DS-2CD2332-I to show
you differences (scale is cm )

PLASTIC yes bunch of plastic for DS-2CD3345-I

disassemble, always plastic

Let's go to see how to put it on a wall !!!

You have to disassemble to place it because the screws are not on the side like "old camera"
you have to screw the plate and after place the camera
i've put red circle, for the screws of the DS-2CD2332-I to show you how thinner the new cam is, i have re-use one of the 3 screw hole

Is turret from the DS-2CD3345 interchangeable with the older DS-2CD2332 alloy mount? I'm wondering if I can just pull out my 3MP turrets and replace it with the 4MP DS-2CD3345 turret.

Once mounted and aimed, how is the DS-2CD3345 turret secured so it doesn't move? The DS-2CD2332 turret uses a single screw when tightened its very difficult to move.

In your opinion, how vandal proof is the new plastic casing?

Can anyone confirm if the LTS CMIP3042W has a plastic or alloy housing?

Thanks in advance!

@Del Boy - to get this info I used the serial console connection - a serial TTL to USB convertor plugged in to the camera board.
There were a couple of references like this:
Code:
davinci receive cmd_query_davinci_param.
S: cmd_query_davinci_param
insert audio

[armlib]init_dsp_lib ok!!!!!
This info does not seem to appear in dmesg, so probably not available via an SSH connection with the psh 'protect Shell'.

Ok, I need to get one of those converters. Just got my DS-2CD3345-I to play with, so can compare with that.

I assume you cannot remotely pan/tilt this camera.. you would have to adjust it manually?
Thanks

hello,

What synology did you use with this camera and what camera did you select? becaus the chinese hikvision models are not supported officially.

I have the same camera with a DS215j and I experience severe hiccups while my DS-7100 hd recorder does not show this behaviour.

Hello, are you using h264+ with motion detection? If yes, try h264.
