Dahua NVR Reboots during the day

Yeah! I said that I would never see the need for a PTZ (haha, that didn't last long). You're thinking of Korgoth, mind you he does work for Dahua as a Technical Manager.

I have logged a further 3 reboots since my first report ealier this afternoon all occurring within roughly 1/2 hour of each other, this is on the alternate power brick. I have another I can try but I don't believe that is the issue.

With your reboots, if you reference the time mentioned in the "Shutdown Time: " log entry, is there another event in the log pretty close to that time? My "Shutdown Time:" always seem to be within 20 seconds of an "Event Type:Intrusion" (or Tripwire), but I'm not sure if that's a coincidence or not. I only get 30-40 Intrustion/Tripwires a day (and all that happens when they trip is that the camera sends an email), so I'm not sure what the NVR does when it gets these, other than log them.

do you guys have built in PoE or external? if its external how hot is your power brick getting?

Mine's external POE as well. The brick feels maybe a smidge warmer than room temp.

Yep, the very last one was 28 seconds after a intrusion event and the first was 25 seconds, however the two in between, one was a minute other was 7 between the intrusion event to the logged shutdown time.

Yup, mine is running fine. I have my NVR on its side in the cubboard where it lives; I've raised it up in case airflow was being impacted from resting on the side. It honestly never feels warm at all though.

Occasionally I see my Dahua NVR rebooting at odd times. I have it scheduled for "maintenance" at 2:00am on Tuesdays. Today it rebooted at 4:26 as well.

Mine too!! Same reboot flag and everything. My log always shows an IVS event seconds before it.

I reported it to @EMPIRETECANDY. Hoping his Dahua support folks can help figure it out!

Since you have two disks we could rule out a disk issue by having you unplug one drive and see if the issue comes back; then repeating it again with the other drive unplugged and the first one plugged back in.

Has anyone with the issue performed a full factory reset?

Same here. I have two 4TB WD Purples in it.

I'll be keeping track of this as I have two on the way. As Ryan mentioned his above, I have the 5208-8P-4KS2 (POE) version that has been solid for 33 days now.

I think in the end it would be nice to see what 0x06 means. I HATE troubleshooting by just randomly trying things and hoping they work. Presumably 0x06 means _something_ and that should help narrow down the cause.

Do you have IVS setup on any of your cameras by chance?

Has anyone with the issue performed a full factory reset?

I didn't do a full factory reset, but I did accidentally click OK on the reset screen the other day (with all of the buttons checked). It rebooted and there were no cameras/schedules/any of my preferences defined after that. But it didn't reset a custom user account I added, so doesn't count as a full reset.

@ aristobrat no i didnt set anything yet except vpn ..i have isp router modem + new asus router .. and i have internet but when i call cs from isp provider and they switch their router modem in bridge mode i loose internet ,and on my work place have not cell signal ..spent 7 days and all weekend trying to figure it out no luck ..my isp cs sucks

I've got the same NVR and have not had any reboots. I'm running 6 cameras, with 24x7 recording, IVS and external alarm events. Seems to me that either your nvr is defective, or there's something different in how it's being used. That could be in how it's configured, the cameras, the power source, ambient temperature, even something as obscure as an unintended ground loop. Just have to figure out what's different. (Easy to say!) For the one where the reboots are related to IVS events, could you take it down to that one camera only and see what happens? Does it happen with IVS events from only one camera or from any camera? Have to find a way to isolate the problem.

I've got the problem of dropped frames on event triggers, which apparently doesn't happen to everybody. I've been "pulling my hair out" trying to isolate this one, with no success so far.
