I am working on a video that covers this very thing. I actually finished it yesterday and @fenderman reviewed it and suggested a few changes. It should be out in the next few days.
Well, now that I know your videos are "fendermended", I will have to check them out!

The last video you did helped me a bunch to understand the clips, archiving and why i have been having issues. But still can't figure out why i get the error i am seeing. I have attached a few screen shots. Main drive is a 500gb ssd second drive is a 3tb purple.

That error means you over allocated your E drive by 10ish GB.

Post a screen shot of your status>clip storages

My guess is either:
A - Aux 1-7 is directed to your E drive and has a certain amount of drive space allocated for it (even if your not using aux 1-7)

B - Even though your "Stored" folder is set to 2675GB your E drive has usage or extra files/folders using like 120GBish making the total drive space more than the drive capacity. That why you see thr -10GB error.

A completely empty 3TB drive is 2.72TB of usable space or roughly 2,785GB. If you have your "Stored" folder limit set to 2675 then your drive must have like 120GB already in use.

here it is . There are only two folders on that drive and the new folder is empty . What you mention about the aux 1-7 is most likely then the issue.

New video! Clips and Archiving Part 1
Great video!!...Question: I had put my database as well as NEW folder both going to a secondary drive because I was worried about my SSD filling up...If I move them to the C: ssd now, will it completely mess up and destroy my existing database and stored alerts and videos??

Hah short answer possibly! I did that very thing to my system when creating the video because prior to me making the video that is how mine was set up (Database and New going to secondary drive) It gave me crazy over-allocation errors and no video showed in my "clips" or timeline.

HOWEVER, after moving database to my C drive I ran the repair/regenerate on the database and it fixed the problem and I didn't lose anything.

Try running a database repair/regenerate. Aux 1-7 isn't the problem according to that screen shot.

Cool. Will try changing to SSD. I notice latency when viewing alerts on iPhone in the app. Could be due to slower secondary drive?

Also, wanted to ask, what size SSD are you using? what did you set it for how much SSD space to allocate before moving the files out of there to a bigger drive?

Just curious as to why you have your new clips stored in the same directory as your database? The default settings have these stored in separate directories. Not sure if it matters or not, but I would think it would be safer to have the database separated from everything else.

Honestly there is no particular reason for mine being in same folder. That's just how I have mine setup - There is no benefit that I know of keeping them in same folder vs different folders if they are on the same drive.

Thank you for your excellent videos on Blue Iris. I've watched almost all of them,. I really found the video on motion, zones, traveled pixels, etc to be the best. I think that there is still a lot of information and tips on those topics that could be addressed in a second video, more in depth perhaps, on those topics. I've read the help files on these issues but still have a lot of questions.

Well done sir....
