power boost what?

since i fitted mine and connected to my NVR it is no more than a camera at the front door, the chime works when your press the button, i don't get any notification on the app and nothing record to the sd card, the only thing i want the unit to do is take a snap shot of the person who pressed the door bell. (i can view the camera by the app)

im hoping the next firmware update will fix some of the issues...

I had the same problem with the chime working, but not getting a notification when the button was pressed. I started using Guardingvision and it worked again for notifications. My main complaint is the video is somewhat "choppy" when watching through the app (or any of the Hikvision apps.) I think it has to do with the bandwidth they allot. When I watch the video through an internal connection, it's great.

Not look that good. Color suck compare to my other cams.View attachment 27485View attachment 27486

It’s not fair to compare these two images. The cameras are located in a different position. One is tucked up out of direct light, and the other is down low where it is exposed to more direct light. Of course the image is going to look different! I think the image looks just as good on my doorbell cam as the rest of my cams. But keep in mind that they have a very different focal length which will effect the image. Especially at a distance which the doorbell cam isn’t designed for

lol...I know..just saying...the area that my package left is old the edge of the lens. it is blurry. I might take it out. and keep the one on top.

With this doorbell can I set a zone for motion? Or is it fixed?

I do wish Hikvision make an internal plug in chime.

Finally has anyone compared this doorbell to the Ring.
How do they compare?

Thanks

If you update to the latest firmware, then you can login via web browser and adjust the motion zone like any other Hik cam. As far as comparing to ring, the alerts have been an issue with Hikvision for a while now. Receiving a call on your phone when someone pushes the button is hit and miss. Sometimes I get it, sometimes not. I’m sure ring is more reliable in that sense. However, being able to record to the NVR is a deal breaker for me. That’s a must!

I'm needing to run a new wire to power the doorbell, is it worth getting a solid core cable or a thicker stranded one? The run will be around 8-9m

i would assume so. Hik makes the firmware. They just remove the name for the generic market. Also, Hik still handles the cloud connection even when sold in the generic market

Well, wanted something quick/cheap, seems deceiving to make 2 different brand names and pricing.

2?? There’s probably 10 or more company’s rebranding Hik cams! That’s normal in electronics. Happens all the time

Has anyone had issues with the number of times the mechanical chime actually chimes?

We have an existing mechanical chime. I changed the transformer to 24v and then just swapped the normal doorbell for the hikvision.

When the hikvision doorbell is pushed the bell chimes but only once - regardless of how long your finger is kept on the button - any ideas to increase the chimes?

What would be a better alternative to this that you can hardwire. Once you hardwire does everyone use BI app to get the instant notification? Is there any lag / delay like the laview?

its more for my older grandmother where everyone is using the ring, want to get something more easier, I have the laview, guess will be using app that comes with it.

What is the best wifi for regular use, able to wire everywhere but this 1 location.

I need to run a new cable to power the door bell, what cable do you recommend? Is better to put something ticker than a doorbell wire?
