@EMPIRETECANDY Do you recall what HTS codes the products you shipped out were under? The tariffs are specific to certain HTS codes, with some video surveillance products impacted but others not.

I think US customs is best customs in the world, we never put any HS Code on shipment, so that is why they always release the shipment very fast.

The tariffs are having a larger negative impact on US based manufacturing/assembly of products that use components sourced from China. Companies that were making things in the US are already starting to move their operations to places like the Philippines. The steel and aluminum tariffs are also having a big negative impact on boeing, wind turbines, and the automotive industry.

As opposed to the us industries that are suffering due to China's unfair tarrifs and illegal practices... Someone is finally standing up to them... It'll be ok...

Seems no one report to me about any tarrifs on the shipment, so i think the tax maybe on the big transactions. Right now many small factories are very hard here, will have many guys lost their jobs~

There is a $800 personal duty-free exemption. If the package is declared below $800 and it "feels" like the content is really below $800, customs wouldn't even care about it and will just pass through. From this link:
"Note: Most personal shipments worth up to $800, and gift packages worth up to $100, will pass duty-free as long as the recipient does not receive multiple packages in a single day whose cumulative value is more than these amounts."

Now that there are a new round of tariffs, just checking back to see if anyone is seeing any impact.

For example, LTS has been telling customers that they expect to raise prices due to the tariffs so I am trying to understand how broad or not this is. Any impact?

Right now no impact for us, we ship to US clients/Amazon last week , seems no guys report for tax and passed the customs very fast. Small lots to US still be no problem.

There's a solution for that: Source that stuff from elsewhere. Or (shocking idea): Fab them here, too.

Then there's this...
New Factory Means More Craftsman Hand Tools will be Made in the USA
May 15, 2019 Stuart

Stanley Black & Decker has issued an investor press release, saying that they will be opening a new Craftsman factory in Fort Worth, Texas.

The new Craftsman tool plant will break ground this summer and is expected to be completed in late 2020. With the new 425,000 square foot facility, Craftsman is following through on their promise to produce more tools in the USA.

The factory will manufacture Craftsman mechanics hand tools, including sockets, ratchets, wrenches, and tool sets.

Stanley Black & Decker says:
The plant will also leverage some of the most advanced manufacturing technologies available to optimize productivity and sustainability, including pre-flattening steel technologies to improve material yield by almost 25 percent, as well as water and energy management technologies to reduce resource consumption.
The Wall Street Journal is reporting that robots and fast-forging presses will contribute to the boosted output, with the 25% figure being in comparison to “older forging machinery” currently producing Craftsman wrenches in China. They also say that production costs will be “in line” with the tools currently being made in China.

That last paragraph is the punch line. We can build products competitively. We simply take the lazy way out and choose not to.

I think what Trump's doing vis-a-vis trade with China is a good thing. More importantly: I've long felt it was a necessary thing.

Just received my 2 cameras that I ordered from Andy last week. Customs never opened the package or looked at the packing slip. If there is a charge, it was not included with the shipment. So unless they bill me, I did not see any differences in this shipment delivery from the other orders I received from Andy.

That’s going to be a serious problem if they place a ban period.
